Scarz, Sengoku, Crazy Raccoon, and Jadeite fr gotta stop importing players from KR/RU and instead sign young JP talents if they wanna actually improve

posted about 2 years ago

true but it's still the best run out of any esport I have ever seen in the most important tournament of the year
if we're just going for consistency why not give it to a team like FaZe who were also solid all year?

I'd still argue that DRX's league team run in worlds was better/more impressive then Loud's valorant team this year

I went back through some old events to see who the best Astra player was and here is what I found:
Format: Player (Event) - ACS

All Time Stats:

  1. MaKo (Reykjavik 2022) - 280.0
  2. MaKo (Copenhagen 2022) - 244.7
  3. Marved (Champions 2022) - 228.4
  4. Marved (Copenhagen 2022) - 222.2
  5. SugarZ3ro (Reykjavik 2022) - 222.1
  6. Nitr0 (Berlin 2021) - 212.8
  7. Melser (Copenhagen 2022) - 210.8
  8. Mindfreak (Copenhagen 2022) - 207.8

2022 Only Stats:

  1. MaKo (Reykjavik) - 280.0
  2. MaKo (Copenhagen) - 244.7
  3. Marved (Champions) - 228.4
  4. Marved (Copenhagen) - 222.2
  5. SugarZ3ro (Reykjavik) - 222.1
  6. Bang (Champions) - 220.0
  7. Melser (Copenhagen) - 210.8
  8. Mindfreak (Copenhagen) - 207.8

I only included players who had +50 rounds on Astra in the event, so Neth with an ACS of 238.0 and Crws with an ACS of 296.0 were excluded since they only had 42 and 23 rounds played respectively.

TLDR:
-MaKo and Marved are by far the best and most consistent Astra players
-nitr0 was actually a better smokes player than I remember
-sScary is actually somewhat overated on Astra
-Astra players improved a lot in 2022 when compared to 2021

This thread took me like 20 min btw :|

i know this thread was probably made with prx in mind, but what team other then them on the list unironically run double duelist comps?
most are just duelist+chamber now i thought

Our team got nerfed with 3 T1 players but no BuZz or stax 😭

Laz gone too

You'd be lucky to get a consistent +30 frames on the new Pokemon game and the graphics look awful but it is simultaneously one of the most fun Pokemon games I've ever played (aside from Emerald and Black and White 2)

Gen.G are 0-8 on pistol rounds lol

posted about 2 years ago

Really? Most people I saw had TS, RRQ, and GE/DNG bottom 3. Talon middle of the pack

posted about 2 years ago

you would really rather wait +3 hours for matches to start instead of watching 3 ads during the break? that was also a 100k prize pool tournament so production should be higher anyway as well

saying gen.g will be top 5 apac isn't even overating them lmfao

i don't think TS knows how to igl on fracture

posted about 2 years ago

ikr, this match says more about Gen.G then drx, only haters are going to say that drx are washed

posted about 2 years ago

TS is performing way above my expectations
if eKo can keep his lcq form, Gen.G can def be top 3 in Pacific

posted about 2 years ago

k1ng is back too :)

posted about 2 years ago

Gen.G might have a chance if foxy is playing

posted about 2 years ago

BuZz deserves to be there too, people overlook him a lot. I wouldn't put Rb and stax there tho, their more like 20-30

posted about 2 years ago

You’re underating one of the players who has had an incredibly successful year in a difficult region while overating someone who is injured and hasn’t touched the game professionally for a year now

posted about 2 years ago

Meteor and Saya clear him anyway

posted about 2 years ago

Paper Rex clears, both Jinggg and f0rsakeN are better players than anyone on Talon to be honest. I don't think Patiphan will even be a top 5 duelist in the Pacific league too.
