not gonna lie, I've enjoyed watching the Japanese VCL more than the KR one so far and I think it's more entertaining cause everyone is so competitive aside from Reject, but the level of gameplay is still pretty low. Something and Vici are solid players, don't get me wrong, but you know something is wrong when someone is farming the entire region minus NTH (TenTen diff) on Reyna

everything is fine except Boaster, he’s definitely not a top 3 IGL imo

posted about 2 years ago

i think tex may end up fitting the team better cause he's flexible like u said but it's too early to tell. destroying OR and DSG is much less impressive then beating prime OpTic, so we'll have to wait and see how well TGrd do the remainder of this year before deciding imo

oh shit i completely forgot boom has Famouz, they're roster is lowkey stacked

So Bleed win ascension?

posted about 2 years ago

How would you rank the regions right now?

I haven't been keeping up with them aside from a few KR/JP matches, so it'd be cool if someone could catch me up

In my mind, the two things they had over other teams was that:
1) They have a focus on "developing new talent", which makes me assume that their 10-man roster plan was part of the deal and why they got chosen
2) The org's values align heavily with what Riot is currently aiming for, with them being a lot more progressive then some other orgs - originally signing the team as a mixed M/F roster and being a lot more supportive LGBTQIA community then other teams

I would have rather seen TGrd, OpTic, or one of the controversial orgs like TSM/G2/FaZe make it over them too, cause I don't care much for the CEO drama, but it is what it is

TGrd are definitely the best ascension team out of any region in my opinion, no matter how many EMEA fans try to say Parla is better

bruh all that hype around it being "a player in champions" and "it could be Marved" for them to pick up two players who haven't been T1 level for years. not saying they're necessarily bad pickups but its kind of lame how VLT and GE always try to farm the hype

FL SyouTa!

zeldris is fun to watch

Reddit is bad because 95% of the users are from NA and most of their knowledge about other regions is just rephrasing Platchat's takes. Also if the match or news isn't from NA it gets no interaction at all lol

I'd consider placing 3rd at Champions as placing well. The two 5-6th placements at Reykjavik and Copenhagen are just the cherry on top.

What happened to this guy? I know he left cause he was injured, but where is he now?

I know but I expected DK to sign him by now, unless the deal fell through :/

Hot take: Maru wins it all

posted about 2 years ago

It’s not that biased to be fair. DRX and PRX are the only two Pacific teams that we can count on being strong and they’re literally seeded against each other.

The only major issue is that they are hard underestimating FPX and TLN.

he had to choose Reykjavik for Marved cause he of fell off the hardest in the other two tournaments lmao. definitely a little unfair for mako choosing the other two's best tournament and not his :/

Prediction on how the ranking changes after what we've seen:
C9 goes down
SEN goes down
100T goes way up
NRG goes up
T1 goes way down
GENG goes down
TLN goes up
GE goes up

posted about 2 years ago

I'd personally put loud or navi over sen

posted about 2 years ago

Sentinel - Less
Controller - MaKo
Duelist - Aspas
Initiator - Shao

posted about 2 years ago

Mako played 1 good masters and had been declining

MaKo is literally the most consistent controller player, his consistency is unmatched now that Marved is gone

damn GE dropping only 1 map is nuts

I GOT THE BEST SIMULATION POSSIBLE LMFAO

posted about 2 years ago

Exactly. MaKo was also literally ranked #1 at Reykjavik, #5 at Copenhagen, and #9 at Istanbul in terms of rating.
Bang was only #27 at Istanbul.

How is that even comparable

posted about 2 years ago

How do you confidently put Bang at #2 but then consider not even putting MaKo as #3

posted about 2 years ago

There’s no way this many people are putting Bang over MaKo, he’s good but you guys are hard overating him

Facts 8/8

posted about 2 years ago

-be Riot
-make fans wait a 5 month “off season” where 80% of the events are just boring show matches
-remove one of the two master events to compensate for kick off
-create the worst kick off event format imaginable with single elimination
-throw in two new maps into the map pool just to fuck with teams a little bit more
-ignore the complaints and instead remind self that this was the best possible decision

what a fucking joke

posted about 2 years ago

Loud beats NRG to qualify
100T gets revenge on FNC to qualify

posted about 2 years ago

that's not a hot take, that's a based take

posted about 2 years ago

Win - DRX, TLN, RRQ
50/50 - PRX, ZETA, GE
Lose - T1, Gen.G, DNG, TS

Edit: FPX is a win, EDG is a loss

posted about 2 years ago

I'd say LEV, 100T, and whoever makes it out of TLN/MIBR/EG/TH have the easiest brackets since they avoid any of the teams we expect to be insanely strong until semifinals. On the other hand, I'd say C9 (PRX, DRX), GENG (LOUD, FPX, NRG), NAVI (KRU, TL, LEV), and T1 (FUR, FNC, 100T) got dealt some of the hardest potential brackets
