Only 3 slots left, playoffs are going to be insanely tense

Fire Flux/Damwon

posted about 3 years ago

Mena doesn’t deserve a slot and TR and CIS should only have 1

posted about 3 years ago

I want Japan to win, but the chances of BR losing are slim
VK will probably make playoffs

posted about 3 years ago

Korea was one the only regions that didn’t have a lower bracket
They are victims of the format, TNL should’ve probably made it

posted about 3 years ago

7 is too many for EMEA
TR and CIS should each have 1 slot

I feel like it's kind of like the turkish situation, with either one of two things happening:

1) The JP scene dies as they are unable to compete, leading to less viewers
2) The JP scene creates a superteam to rival KR teams (kinda like what SMB did in EMEA), strengthening the combined scene

posted about 3 years ago

Just to think, no one would have honestly been comparing PRX to SMB a week ago
Hope they find an upset or two

Nuturn for sure, won't even be close with Hyeoni added

I'm really proud of how far Korea has come in Valorant already
They're proof that # of players ≠ skill of region

posted about 3 years ago

LATAM is pretty much just KRU tho, the North sucks and the South has really inconsistent teams that rarely beat KRU

posted about 3 years ago

He's going to GenG

posted about 3 years ago

They wouldn't and shouldn't make half the teams from Asia, especially since CN and SA are so new

posted about 3 years ago

always easy for Japan

posted about 3 years ago

idk, there's a high chance they just aim diff CR tbh

posted about 3 years ago

Tournaments are going to be 24 teams
SA/CN are for sure getting direct slots (also maybe OCE)
SEA won't get a slot removed
NA aren't getting 5 slots

posted about 3 years ago

Brazil should win both games, though HL and CR are pretty much playing to see who the worst team of the tournament is
Would rather see JP win tho

posted about 3 years ago

100T and VS are interchangeable imo

VS with Lakia is probably better then 100T tho

posted about 3 years ago

Is he looking for opportunities in EU tho?
Kinda a far move to only be playing in the 2nd best region :<

I'm curious to see people's new and revised power rankings after Day 4

Mine:
1) Sentinels
2-3) 100 Thieves/Vision Strikers (interchangeable)
4) Gambit
5) Acend
6) Envy
7) SuperMassive Blaze
8) G2 Esports
9) Vivo Keyd
10) F4Q
11) KRU Esports
12) Zeta Division
13) Havan Liberty
14) Crazy Racoon

(no fucking clue where to put PRX tbh)

posted about 3 years ago

Tbf Gambit and 100T are neck and neck
No one knows how good Envy really are yet
And VS have a decent chance to beat an NA team in the playoffs

posted about 3 years ago

I don’t think VS were the overrated team…

posted about 3 years ago

1) One of the big things that made his Iceland watchparties fun was talking to people like Sean or Hiko (who are now both in Berlin)
2) There are more entertaining options now
3) Shroud isn't interested in any region that isn't NA
4) Riot production makes interlude times more bearable

posted about 3 years ago

Acend are the favorites and have the higher chance of winning, but you shouldn't be judging VS off of the PRX match because:

1) PRX are an underrated team and f0rsaken was online that match
2) The two teams also scrim a lot, so obviously they have a good read on eachother
3) I'm like 80% sure they were saving strats because they went 24-0 against PRX in scrims and probably felt confident enough to play with a 'puggy' playstyle (plus they didn't use Lakia)
4) Stax also said in the interview after that they were sorry for making it unnecessarily close, like he was admitting they were hiding something
5) Someone even said that Benkai said VS had something big up their sleeve for this next match against Acend

posted about 3 years ago

Lmao, true
I think VS will choose to play Lakia on more then just Bind though

posted about 3 years ago

VS - Lakia is my favorite player
F4Q - bunny and zunba are just a treat to watch
Gambit - Seem really wholesome, have a really cool playstyle as well
Envy - favorite NA team, adding Yay just made them even more fun to watch
100T - what can I say, I'm a fan of Hiko

posted about 3 years ago

I think NA will win Berlin to but there are still a few threats out there, like the winner of group A

posted about 3 years ago

I just hope the match can live up to the hype
Lets go Lakia!

I think Acend have the upper hand, but people shouldn't be using the PRX game to judge VS's skill

I don't have the exact interview, but after the match against PRX, I remember VS literally apologizing for it being so unnecessarily close, almost as if they were telling ppl that they were hiding strats

posted about 3 years ago

Didn’t mention Something or Seoldam cause they aren’t actually Japanese, just playing in the region

posted about 3 years ago

Definitely, he's probably the best actual Japanese player playing in JP

posted about 3 years ago

For me it'd have to be Paper Rex and Zeek (mans is underrated af)

posted about 3 years ago

I’m like 80% sure they were saving strats, but obviously I’m a little biased

They went 24-0 against PRX in scrims and probably felt confident
Also, a lot of people who have watched VS games described the PRX game as ‘VS pugging’

I don’t expect them to beat Acend but they are definitely better then what they showed in their opening match

posted about 3 years ago

Reasons the game was close:
1) VS and PRX scrim each other a lot, so obviously games are going to be closer since the two have a better read on eachother
2) PRX were underrated and f0rsaken was playing insane that game
3) VS are hiding their playbook for the match against Acend and didn't even use Lakia all game

People can interpret the game differentially, but this is what I think

posted about 3 years ago

I'd like to see that

posted about 3 years ago

It really shows how dominant NA have been internationally so far

posted about 3 years ago

Here's each regions' record and map win % if anyone wanted to see it, data will get better as the tournament goes on

NA: 22-7 (76%)
EMEA: 23-17 (58%)
KR: 8-8 (50%)
LATAM: 4-5 (44%)
SEA: 2-6 (25%)
BR: 3-12 (20%)
JP: 1-8 (11%)

How is everyone's pickems going after day 3?

I'm 7/7 rn https://www.vlr.gg/pickem/670de0b7

posted about 3 years ago

Due to backlash from the community, Riot will decide to add Russia to APAC LCQ because they are actually Asian

The slots will now be 3 SEA, 2 KR, 2 JP, 2 CN, 1 SA, 2 RU

quick, NA fans gotta start jinxing Gambit

welcome to the club, coming from a VS fan (literally won and still got shit talked by every1)

posted about 3 years ago

Nah
Losing 13-5 and 13-3 is much worse then at least taking a map

posted about 3 years ago

Actually made me laugh, lmao

Gambit are going to need an insane mental recovery for next map
