LMFAO, despite all that Benkai said in the interview you seriously think what Benkai says is true? Benkai just said it so that he could pass that "I broke VS's wrist" joke, if you seriously thought VS 24-0's PRX, you got baited hard and trolled by Benkai.

You are living in a cave, my man. Touch some grass.

Once again, you just don't watch SEA games if you think that's pugging. Do you know what's a good execution against teams like PRX? What k1ng did inside the Viper's pit on A-side on Icebox. It happens so fast, you cannot even comprehend it. VS uses strats all the time but you only get to see them when you have time to analyze what happens and the cameras can actually follow what happened.

If that's pugging for you, sure. I don't need to prove anything here. the entirety of EU is still trying to understand how Acend lost. While I am trying to put a point forward to VS and SEA teams. I don't even need to though since I think they have done enough.

If you are still in the copium that PRX is a weak team, I just don't know what to tell you man.

Even if SEA was a really weak team (even worse than JP) there is no way you can win against a pro team unless you use strats. Especially when they have a star jett like forsaken and you are not the best known team for mechanics.

Hiko got that LAN buff. I wouldn't be surprised if he knives dapr with this buff.

You just need that Patiphan/Benkai dose every game man.

Here is why you think that VS was not trying against PRX.

You just don't watch SEA or Korean Valorant enough.

You are just used to EU or NA valorant. Where people communicate to the team before taking an action. In SEA it's the opposite. Actions are taken by duelists first and then the team tries to adopt.

As such, there is a lag between information transfer between both teams and these teams look unorganized. That you "see" as VS not even trying is just VS trying to cope with Paper Rex taking very quick decisions that even their teams cannot process fast enough.

If you have a Jett like forsaken or Patiphan who is just mechanically "built differently", you generally manage to secure an advantageous position while both the teams are confused. By the time both the teams have recovered and reset, Paper Rex/Other SEA teams are already at an advantage.

It's a different style of playing valorant which I do not expect an EU/NA/KR-only viewer to understand.

Secondly, VS technically cannot even save strats against Paper Rex? Dude, Paper Rex and VS scrim each other very often. GE and other teams also scrim Paper Rex very often. How do you even save strats against teams that you scrim daily? You have gotta test those strats against them at least once right?

Nearly all teams are having their first LAN valorant experience my friend. Paper Rex is no exception.

posted about 4 years ago

You saw forsaken, you saw Paper Rex. Remember that Paper Rex got closer to VS than Acend did and Bren 3-0ed Paper Rex and are the better team. X10 is not even playing in this tournament.

GE has beaten Bren multiple times recently in scrims with a ping disadvantage. Also, GE has some really experienced LAN guys playing since CS1.6 to SkRossi who was the dark horse in Indian CS around 2018.

SkRossi and his team is not much behind SEA. Almost 90-80%. I won't have my hopes high as GE will probably not even reach the finals but from what we are seeing in this tournament, these Jetts from smaller regions are really proving themselves. Anything can happen.

The thing is you haven't even seen him play yet. Why judge so quick?

(This post is really optimistic for GE I do know that guys, but just let them play internationally first.)

Honestly seeing that Paper Rex got closer to visions strikers than acend, I think they can even possibly lose to Paper Rex.

Korea is pretty much gods at every game they touch. Half of the people on this forum weren't even born since Korea has been dominating the scene.

If you think LoL or Dota2 are the biggest esports, man you gotta be kidding me. Yes, modern tech has brought the viewership up but starcraft was the real OG esport and the clout that the game had was unmatched. Korea was so dominant that the finals, semifinals, and even sometimes the playoffs would be between only Korean teams.

Also, something else which is different in Asia in general compared to the west is that Asia has a gaming cafe culture. Where people go to play in gaming cafes where you can rent powerful PCs for dirt cheap. Rather than have their own personal PCs. This also includes LAN culture and playing in teams.

As such you are really inclined to play games that are already being played in the cafe/are installed on the PCs rather than creating your own interests.

I don't know the exact details behind this but CSGO is not a preinstalled game in almost all the cafes you go into Korea. As such, getting into CSGO has a barrier of entry.

Compare that to esports that Korea is actually into like RTS, MOBAS, and Rhythm games, they are practically gods.

Just a year into valorant and Korea is already beating some of the favorites to win the tournament.

If you have multiple regions there will always be the weakest region.

That was a big brain analysis.

1) Zeta actually gave a fucking fight to KRU.

2) Crazy racoons was against Gambit who manhandled 100T on ascent and pretty much the first half of Icebox.
CR doesn't have a Hiko with them to consistently clutch 1v3s nor are they experienced enough to stay calm and think of comebacks after an 11-1 half. Your mental is just gonna disappear into thin air.

Yes, Japan is weak but not as weak as the Gambit vs CR match made it out to be. That being said tbh yes other regions do deserve that extra slot imo but that should be Riot increasing total slots and not taking away from Japan.

ohh man such a humble take. Just like Gambit players. Flair checks out.

Man the 9-3 curse is real at this point.

I think it would be a plausible strat to just end the half at 8-4 rather than 9-3.

XSET obviously gotta be better than G2. They are no.4 in NA, G2 is just a meme that somehow made it to berlin.

LATAM is literally losing RN to Japan and yet Japan is the worst region in the tournament.

Mumbai is less toxic than Singapore where you get railed by racial slurs if they discover you are Indian. Does not matter if you are literally carrying the team.

I played on 120ms ping. Yes, I am a masochist. I have also played on Australian and EMEA servers.

I do it for the experience in unranked games. Compare gameplay etc.

BTW if you have a good connection high ping is not that big of a problem. Packet loss is. Packet loss causes you to teleport and lag. On high ping, you just get delayed peeks and peekers advantage.

Not that big of a factor in low to high plat-low diamond lobbies I am used to. A much bigger issue in pro matches.

Ohh and BTW I clutched so many rounds on Tokyo with this ping with Jett the team was really hyped up and fun to play with. So it's not as if it's unplayable.

It was Gambit. Gambit could possibly even win this tourney.

Crazy Racoons are not that bad guys. They had a good game against V1 as well.

What I will say is that their mental is very fragile. They are pretty much the quickest tilters.

X10 tilted them so much. So did loosing so many rounds to Gambit.

posted about 4 years ago

Japan hands down is the least toxic region here.

I have played many games on the Tokyo server and those guys hands down are some of the most encouraging people you will see.

posted about 4 years ago

Some people are really swayed quickly.

One bad day by one bad team especially when you have 0 experience going against maybe the best team in the tourney. That is what Japan went through.

Give em teams a chance.

wrong priorities.

Even if you get IIT, go to a college that is willing to give you Computer Science.

I was one of the guys that thought that you study the subject you have an interest in.

You are basically useless unless you have skills in CS.

Ok Zeta got sweeped on the first half but Laz hit some nasty deags.

Is a redemption Arc coming?

Edit: The first half on split looks promising.

CS is alive in a single region on earth and that is EU.

NA pros shifted to valorant at the right time as their scene is dead.

EU pros don't feel half that pressure and most of them haven't made the switch.

posted about 4 years ago

All IITs are crap. Go outside if you want a good college.

If you even compare it with universities from Asia itself, IITs are a joke.

BTW we get single rooms with ACs and better food compared to all other IITs. What else do you want?

My dude just does not know that the physical distance between Japan and Singapore is huge to the point that they cannot be merged as a region.

Korea and Japan is much more doable.

I think X10 were just nervous in the first game.

They rekt CR in the next game.

Lost to fnatic which was also the second-best team in the tournament.

I would blame the seeding. Bad luck.

PRX is also stuck in bad seeding, unfortunately.

Barely a week old actually.

Korea is hyped because apart from CS they were pretty much all over the esports scene alongside EU.

Korea was not good in CS because their cafes don't have that game installed and to play that you need to put in the extra effort.

They are literal gods in pretty much any other game they touch.

posted about 4 years ago

Damn

posted about 4 years ago

That is exactly what I am saying. Just let them play. We will see the results.

If I hype them up saying they are the best, I would be in the wrong and if someone says they gonna get rekt, they are wrong as well.
After we have seen the results can we really say what is gonna happen.

posted about 4 years ago

LMAO you really dug deep for this one.

I am not convincing anyone, It's just that people rate teams even before they have had a chance to play.

This is Paper Rex's first stint internationally and people assumed that they are one of the worst teams here. They lost 2-0 but at least they showed that they deserve to be here.

Same for India. It's not an Indian team's fault for not going international before this. There are tournaments every week and at least a dozen proper teams in India. Judging from the population on this website and viewership breakdown in general, India is also one of the biggest regions, It's just Riot who wants to suck up to China instead of fairly distributing slots.

I will repeat, I am not convincing anyone when I say this because I know Indian teams have done it before. An Indian team went against prime time NIP (your flair, you must know it) in the 2014 CS major and faced a respectable loss. Losing like that to the best team in the world with no international experience is very good for a first attempt and that was back when no one even gave a shit about esports. Given how NIP went to beat other teams without any competition suggests that Indian teams could have done better than a lot of the teams there. They just had bad seeding going against NIP in a Bo1 in the first round itself.

Ohh and did I mention PRX is SEA no.2 seed and also, the best teams in SEA are not even playing here because Patiphan is injured and Bren could not make it? Indian teams scrim PRX Bren and X10 regularly beating them a few times as well. Well, I agree that's scrimbux, and yes they don't matter much also, most probably not gonna happen in a tournament, but this is just to let you know there will not be a day-night difference between the two.

I don't think it is correct to overhype or underhyped any region if they haven't even been given a chance yet. That being said think what you want.
