confirmed 1 korea

posted about 2 years ago

im aware it was a rumor, but it still feels weird
the only real upgrade from esperanza would be lakia and possibly 10x, unless they really want to find new amateurs?

posted about 2 years ago

did the damwon kia-esperanza trial fall through? interesting to see him not picked up

posted about 2 years ago

no, it was confirmed leviatan is invited

i was bored and saw a post about champions having play-ins, so i decided to make my own scenario, feel free to make your own too with these teams :)
Qualifying teams:

  • 100 Thieves
  • G2
  • Sharks
  • ZETA Division
  • NUTURN
  • Paper Rex
  • Six Karma
  • ORDER (Oceania Tour)
  • Global Esports (VCC)
  • Anubis Gaming (Strike Arabia)

Group A:

  • 100 Thieves
  • NUTURN
  • ZETA Division
  • Anubis
  • Six Karma
    Group B:
  • G2
  • Sharks
  • Paper Rex
  • Global Esports
  • ORDER

100 Thieves & G2 qualify to group stage, Global Esports and Anubis are knocked out

  • Six Karma beat ZETA, Sharks beat Order
  • Paper Rex beat Six Karma, NUTURN beat Sharks
Paper Rex & NUTURN qualify to group stage

Assuming the draw remains the same, the play-in teams will play in:

  • Paper Rex to Group D
  • NUTURN to Group B
  • 100 Thieves to Group A
  • G2 to Group B

they can have two teams, but only one can participate in vct unless theyre a game changers team

thank you for all the support :)

i doubt vision strikers will change their roster, this is their first experience with not setting the tempo of the game which can be seen comparing fnc vs and acend vs, and this gives them experience that asia doesnt give to better compete with the top of na/eu

nope, just doing this for fun

Onur has said as much as he would want to do bootcamps, due to LATAM playoffs being on lan + being in every international event, the amount of flytime they have tires out the whole team so they dont want to bootcamp

a surprisingly popular esport in korea

posted about 2 years ago

Hello, after seeing Noyn’s post i wanted to make my own post about the future of Valorant Korea heading into 2022 with what I currently know and have heard from other koreans :)

Confirmed (or almost) teams:
Warriors Esports (R6)
TNL Esports
GoNGo Prince (LCK/PUBG)
Straight Warfare
BBQ Olivers/Esports Connected (LCK)
Lunatic-hai (OW)
TUBEPLE Gaming (Kart Rider)
Spear Gaming (LCK)
Goma
Gehenna (CS)
Alpha Six Gaming
(?) Nuturn
DAMWON Kia
World Game Star
Vision Strikers

Rumored:
Talon (OW/LCK)
Solaris (OW)
SGA Esports (R6)
Ghibli Esports (PUBG)
ATA Esports (PUBG)
Element Mystic (OW)

The only rosters I am aware of is Spear trialing their ShotVal roster and Esperanza to Damwon and replacing Eugene as well as a rebuild, with Tubeple also working to finish their roster. TNL is looking for a fifth following SeliG leaving the team. The future of Nuturn is currently unknown. OW players are starting to switch too, with Xzi expressing interest if salaries were better

excited for dk next year with esperanza, t3xture, and intro as a core
also ive heard some things about the new orgs joining korea, all ill say is that its hype :)

posted about 2 years ago

good game and nice try vs, hope this loss helps for the future
good learning experience here in champions, lets hope for better next year for vs and korea as a region
well played c9, good luck in playoffs :)
lets root for our asian friends, gl secret and x10!

posted about 2 years ago

stax is the oldest at 21, they have up to 7 years more until military

posted about 2 years ago

no, because this shows them their weaknesses and what needs to be changed, which they never really get in asia
all 6 players are solid, unless vs gets a big buyout or someone falls off massively i dont see any changes

posted about 2 years ago

how bad is ping from colombia to las servers? i think xander might be a good replacement if ping isnt that bad
sad for nagz though :(

posted about 2 years ago

the biggest problem with lakia is that he just hasnt played enough lately to keep him up there, post reykjavik definitely but hes played sova three or four times since masters 2, hes good yes but doesnt get much chance to shine anymore

posted about 2 years ago

in terms of utility jessievash is highly underrated imo
his dart lineups are really effective, and aim wise he showed up throughout the tournament
not sure if hes top 5 caliber but i think hes up there :)

posted about 2 years ago

ping issues probably with lan to las/br is why lan and las are different, ive heard people from amazon area get 70ish ping on br servers? so lan playing with all of sa will definitely put some trouble

posted about 2 years ago

k1ng crumbled under the pressure especially on map 3, its nothing to get too mad at him for especially since it was one match
against other international teams, k1ng played fairly well even if his kd didnt show otherwise

also there's 2 years of synergy with k1ng, rb, and stax which i doubt they want to break + there's no top level replacements unless they want to buy out hate

posted about 2 years ago

that already existed kinda but theres no reason to when korea has had one major non vct tournament this year

posted about 2 years ago

he's currently still on medical leave but is he even a core of the roster anymore, as much i hate to say it?
rb and lakia play his role, stax plays sage for him, k1ng has already shown he can flex to viper, so what would vs plan to do with zest moving forward?

posted about 2 years ago

the thing is, buzz already knows so much about the in workings of vs, i dont think theyd let him go so easily
buzz is a good player but who else is there in korea to be a star jett? solo's conditioning for hyeoni didnt look impressive, i doubt dk will let t3xture go, how much would the seoldam contract even have to be?

posted about 2 years ago

on fracture k1ng was definitely not playing as good, but looking at it why go for kay/o on icebox over kj and sage? unless rb was looking to play killjoy too on icebox

posted about 2 years ago

i feel like the kay/o pick was very off, i dont think the k1ng bench was worth it
put stax back on sage, -rb and +lakia +king?

posted about 2 years ago

painful game :(
very close, couldve gone vs' way easily on map 1 but gg fnatic, well deserved

posted about 2 years ago

here’s the full rundown:
lakia ended his contract with nuturn after reykjavik, lakia chose not to renew it (this was after vs rebuild)
lakia approached vs to join them, vs management agreed and told the team about it
there was no poaching

posted about 2 years ago

please stop spreading this narrative, its not true

posted about 2 years ago

prx or rebuilt dwg, new zeta might be up there too
from what ive heard from lots of koreans, dwg -eugene -secret +esperanza

posted about 2 years ago

interesting, vs has said they felt their breeze was behind during berlin
nice to see their changes tho :)

posted about 2 years ago

not sure honestly, it looks like on haven they were playing more to their teamwork fundamentals like they did against acend

posted about 2 years ago

cant watch the game but does it look like vs was sandbagging again like the prx game?

posted about 2 years ago

i see k1ng playing haven, ascent, split/bind, icebox
lakia could be fracture, split, bind, breeze
