pretty sure it is!
i can see tnl and maybe wgs and f4q? other than that, not sure if theyll allow many of the korean orgs to compete
highly doubt they’ll be allowed in the opens to compete seeing the advantage theyll have over many of the f/a’s, streamers, and tryout teams playing, maybe a tnl/dk tryout team or some members from the big teams playing? definitely not whole rosters
ahh ok, makes sense
more teams registered to compete:
big tournament coming soon for korea. decent amount of money along with notable teams, pros, and known people participating!
Notable Orgs/teams regustered at the time of playing:
its a banger not sure what youre on about, some kpop just goes different like that
im not very familiar with a lot of the lesser known talents from smaller orgs ie goma, gehenna, autocracy, however climax deserves a chance on a team
he looked solid in stage 3 and stage 2, almost beating vs when playing on i need girlfriend
if dk sees potential in him, especially since he was a main reason why f4q beat damwon this season, i dont see why a team of their caliber wouldnt offer a good amount of money to him for the roster
inter felt a bit off compared to the rest of uk, hate was also former dk no?
esperanza is a matter of whether he stays on sova, sentinel, or chooses not to leave f4q as org offers come up
intro is also a great player, the rest of the team felt inconsistent with performance to support the main players
was looking at the vct korea channel and some comments are saying that damwon is currently disbanding/rebuilding their valorant roster, maybe this has a slight effect on their lcq performance?
according to what people are saying, the team will be rebuilding around t3xture and intro
thoughts on a potential roster? imo:
excited to see lunatic-hai tubeple and spear make a return to kr, hoping the mystic, ghibli, and talon rumors are true too
i think damwon has potential for t1 next year if they change some players around their core (t3xture, intro, eugene/jeong hi?) and play a less passive style
ge and f4q were able to repeatedly use their aggression against how passive damwon is which is why they suffer
intr0, climax, t3xture, jeong hi, (potentially even esperanza..?) would be a stacked roster
yea there’s what, 7 or so competitive orgs? actual salaried teams like autocracy and gehenna, goma (idk if theyre even orgs or people taking the name) dont even make it into playoffs
theres so many great players in korea who are current f/a’s, hoping kr can be more competitive in the future (and add double elim to playoffs)
is davai a skye main? if not personally skye would be a great fit for f0rsaken
lunatic-hai and tnl posted tryouts on their twitter a while back for next challengers :) big stuff for the scene
theres korean orgs looking to get back or join valorant next year! tubeple, spear, and lunatic-hai are rumored to come back and talon, ghibli, mystic are also rumored to join the scene
kr valorant will hopefully step up next year, apac lcq is a good intercontinental practice for korea especially as theres barely any asian tournaments for them to play in, this is good practice for the teams even if they disappoint
sad to see f4q/dk underperform? yes, however this is better for the scene as theyll have a better understanding of how other asian teams play heading into next year
think its more of korea has had what, 2 non korean exclusive asia tournaments? and the only kr teams i remember participating are bcg, vs, and nu, in addition theres only like 7 orgs competing in korea anyway
korea doesnt have these consistent chances to play against a variety of apac teams, they cant really learn how to play from experience against india or japan simply because scrimming doesnt give you much in the way of counterstrating besides from analysis
ping is also an issue because even outside of valorant, korea has some of the fastest internet and korea servers anywhere typically are very low ping, i doubt many korean players are used to competing on any stage on that high of a ping
x10 have recently debuted in a tournament with their full lineup on fpsthailand twitch if you want to see some recent stuff! for some reason pati is on sova over foxz at times
what im worried about with f4q is that if they lose that identity that brought them to success in the first place, whats next? they have some very talented individual players and locomotive is doing some great strategizing for the team but when it comes down to it, when they lose that identity they may just lose what they had going for them, especially post berlin where its either start from scratch or play the same, quickly readable playstyle
while we’re at it, after ge’s performance against damwon what do we have as expecations for nuturn and f4q heading further into apac?
but tnl is better than both f4q and damwon but still couldnt make it
icebox is their perm ban similar to many other korean teams, theyre more comfortable on breeze than icebox
split is another good map for them but it felt like f4q playing them on split, they get scared of rossi running at them and let them take control off that
good argument, id change my point about playing officials though, india has had chances to compete in non indian exclusive tournaments where this is damwon’s first time going up against a non korean team in a match
not to make excuses though, ge played their hearts out today
definitely, you can tell this isnt the same damwon that beat nuturn in stage 3, there were many unfortunate calls that wouldnt be as prevelant in a lan environment which is what korea is used to
definitely, its also why theyve been losing to f4q much more
a team as aggressive as f4q/ge will push off a passive team like damwon
i guess the momentum/energy? same reason why tech pauses killed team momentum at times at berlin
but theyre genuine problems with the team? ge were much more prepared today compared to damwon who did not look up to par at all
theres a lot that contributed to damwon’s loss
think it was more of an adaptation thing, damwon has never played an official outside of korea, plus dk always has somewhat of a rough start before warming up, reminds me of reykjavik nuturn somewhat
confidence in the lower bracket run though :)
great job on your win today against a team of damwon’s calliber! team played great and played against damwon’s sloppiness, nice to see how supportive you guys are of your region despite the odds, big win for you guys even if im upset over damwon losing
keep it up and good luck against prx!! :)
usually damwon takes time to adapt or gets off to a slow start, theyre more of a team thats prepared for structure (which is why they keep losing to f4q) and if ge prefers to play with strategy on ascent/split, they might lose
dk went 11-13 on ascent and split against nuturn, not too familiar exactly but good luck on the last maps! :)
wishing you guys the best of luck!! cheering on for damwon but hoping you can make something work, good luck in lcq :)
honestly ldn utd is looking good right now, beating navi, obg and gambit (as gydom galva) is a great accomplishment for them, definitely deserve a spot on here
as an update we have ppgl, ender and afreeca as the english casters but no tastosis and daks :(
ohh ok, thank you! :)
how about suggest staying on initator flex and have allow as second duelist? unless hes like buzz where his second duelist play isnt very good
unrelated but do you think suggest or allow will be picking up sova or will hyeoni stay on skye
esperanza and fivek will most likely stay, no reason for esperanza to leave with orgs offering to pick up f4q
fivek can do much more but hes the face of the team practically, especially as the igl, doubt he’ll leave soon
f4q over prx is a hot one, fivek has been changing too much of what hes known for and to an extent bunny too
they really have only 4 maps they can play (icebox and breeze dont suit their comps at all) and their depth isnt is really enough to match their skill
my bad i didnt realize how much higher ge is than they really should :(
fennel could be a tossup but fs/nth is probably an overstatement
id place tnl above kia if they had a full roster, core itself is good but i also said that id fully rank the qualifying teams itself. always sad for tnl :(
boom did pick up some ae members who beat fs in playoffs but otherwise thats understandable, its been too long dince a original x10 has been seen in play to accurately rank
definitely think bleed and tnl crack top 10
most likely, thinking it now ts looks slightly better other than their kjc performance but the agent banning system has been brutal to them this tournament
heres to hope that ts’ bootcamp will help them out
imo cr looks very promising if they work out communication and roster issues
list only includes teams qualified to lcq/champions, honorable mentions: tnl, bleed, louvre, former alter ego, baam, onic g
thoughts? appreciate any criticism :)
which english casters for apac do you think we’ll get? or which ones would you like to see
what are some teams who get so close to making it to an international stage/achieving great results to prove themselves, no matter how much they do?
personally i want to see dwg or tnl make it to an international event at some point :(
