Agreed, G2's banter really was something else. Hope there's more of it in the future, it makes things interesting.

Gambit is already locked in for Champions and Acend is currently #2. If G2 wins tomorrow then it'll be Gambit & G2 at Champions. If not, then it'll be Gambit & Acend.
If Gambit wins tomorrow & the finals, then it'll be Gambit, Acend & Fnatic in Champions (since Fnatic is currently #3). If G2 wins tomorrow & the finals, then it'll be Gambit, G2 & Acend in Champions.
100T vs G2, they are the two teams I've rooted for since Berlin started along with VS. TBH though all 4 teams are solid so the finals matchup should be good no matter the teams.
Going by that same logic, then Sentinels were never the #1 team since Iceland was just a qualifier too....
Is not one game, is Masters. The new #1 of the moment will be whichever team wins Berlin.
They're still in 4th spot though. They need tomorrows W to surpass Acend and get 2nd spot. Otherwise they will go straight to LCQ.
Like I wrote in other posts, overconfidence killed them. They barely changed anything since Iceland, thinking their dominance would continue as long as they play the same. But guess what? Teams improve. And most likely, teams really prepared to play against Sentinels.
Clear example was G2. They lost their first match, prepared for the second one and won it. And today Envy confirmed it; Sentinels are not invincible. Now they really need to improve and mix things up if they don't want history repeating itself at Champions.
They only joined Valorant this month by signing the former roster of Bren after the whole not able to compete in Berlin drama. Before that they had no Valorant team
People really are sleeping on the first team to beat Sentinels internationally
Everyone was. TenZ struggled against G2 and today again on Split. Both losses are on the whole team.
The Vision Strikers vs Gambit match was between two of the favorites to win. There was a 50/50 chance of winning for each team since the beginning. Gambit winning definitely does NOT discredits VS. On the contrary, credits to Gambit for beating one of the stronger teams in Berlin.
Doubt it. Their next move should be getting a coach instead of roster changes. The era of outaiming everyone is over.
TBH, I think overconfidence killed them. G2 first showed Sen weren't invincible and Envy confirmed it today. Now Sentinels will HAVE to actually try and get better if they don't want history to repeat itself at Champions, especially since this loss will probably boost other team's confidence.
Sen are saving strats for playoffs.
Oh wait....
I like Fnatic but I have to agree. A team that wasn't able to reach EMEA playoffs shouldn't be at Champions without winning LCQ
G2 has performed better through the tournament tho. They deserve a Champions spot more than Acend do tbh.
Yes, Envy has 25 more circuit points than 100T
Me too, really wanted VS in the finals. But Gambit is another favorite to win so we all knew VS vs Gambit was a 50/50 chance of winning for each team.
Thankfully they are already in for Champions. Maybe they'll get a rematch against Gambit then......
They do. As slim as it might be, every team has a chance.
I mean after that first match against Gambit, CR definitely got their share of shit from the community, at least here on VLR. So it is nice to see they managed to shut mouths and change some minds today.
You're absolutely right about braindead posts though.
Gambit struggling against CR doesn't really mean anything tho. The same was said about VS. "They struggled against PRX, there's no way they are beating Acend next round" yet they completely dominated Acend.
I understand that point of view, but such logic doesn't really work. Teams CAN get better in a matter of days. Preparation, adjustments, etc.
Not a fan of CR and Japan is still the weakest region right now.
That being said, CR definitely earned my respect today. They prepared and looked much better. If they were able improve in a few days and make Gambit struggle, they can definitely improve more in a few months and be a better team at Champions. Hopefully Japan as a region keeps getting better.
Lets give CR some credit. They looked much better so props to them for preparing. Hopefully Japan keeps getting better.
Don't know about scared, but they definitely should be ready for ALL teams, regardless of how they look in previous matches. Overconfidence can cost you and they don't know what adjustments a team has made just to get ready for them (Sentinels).
There's a difference between being objective and being a hater. Don't get salty over reading a different point of view.
I'm sure too they've made changes too but they haven't really tried them out yet. I doubt they would want to test a new comp or whatever it is they're changing in a single elimination playoffs match, especially against Envy.
Icebox. I don´t really like Split either but I´d rather play that one over Icetrash
Yeah this makes the most sense
THIS. Sen fans really are something else dude. They really be burning their minds to create excuses instead of just accepting the L.
My bad lol, its hard to tell whos serious or not among Sen fans , especially right now.
They lost. Dont start with the ¨is just a seeding match¨ excuse; theres no excuse for the defending champs to lose 0-2 and 13-3 on Icebox. Not gonna hate on them but, seeding match or not, an L is an L.
Not 4. BR gets 2 spots plus 1 spot if a BR team wins SA LCQ. So is like this:
BR: 2 spots (Team Vikings + Vivo Keyd)
LATAM: 1 spot (Kru)
LATAM/BR : +1 spot (SA LCQ winner)
As a LATAM player, I can say that yes, Kru is weak. But the problem is not that the team sucks, is the lack of competition in the region. LATAM playoffs only had 4 teams total and Kru only lost 2 maps total. A team can't really improve unless the competition gets better and the region/amount of teams grows.
And the problem in the region is that Valorant isnt that big in LATAM. For example, I'm from Puerto Rico and right now I only know of 1 puertorican pro Valorant player (Caz from Lazer). Unless the regional competition grows, Kru will keep dominating the scene and unfortunately for them, they wont really improve without the competition.
I mean G2 already took a map last match. If they took 1, they can take 2 next time.
Doubt it will happen, but it is not impossible. Hoping for a good, close game though.
Its a bug, just like yesterday the Vision Strikers vs Acend scoreboard was showing Lakia instead of Mako even though he didnt play
LATAM only has one slot though, how can it have less?
Exactly. I'm not a cNed fan but today's L was on the whole team, they didnt manage to adapt to VS's game at all
PRX 2 - 1 SMB
Thats definitely a factor. Though I guess it depends on the country too and the amount of american/british pop culture influence in each country
Definitely english. I mastered it pretty easily just by watching movies and playing games in english with subtitles
So, is Acend really toe to toe with Sentinels?
PRX is by no means the worst team at the event. Maybe the weakest team in their group, but we all knew the JP teams are the worst teams in the tournament since the beginning. SEA teams are actually decent.
Personally, I think the VS vs Acend match will be much closer than SMB vs Acend. You could say Acend dominated that first match but SMB really didnt perform like they did on EMEA playoffs (online). Hell, I dare say PRX can actually beat SMB if SMB doesn't step their game up. So yeah, I think Acend vs VS can go either way. I could be wrong, well see.
Awesome match, could've gone either way. GGs to both team.
To be fair it was close, could've gone either way. Only dumb kids are hating on Gambit. GGs to the team.
