Yeah it is super weird, even if u aren't prepared can't you just treat the event as practice...

Yeah and for Champions, SA gets 4 slots versus Eu’s 3

posted about 2 years ago

part of Asia cause of the database I used. But still, Asia is bigger than NA which is crazy imo

Thought this would be cool to update/share and might tell us how slots will be divided for next year's events

Using the methods from this post, I determined an approximate playerbase for each region based on ranked players:

According to Valking.gg the breakdown for Radiant/Immortal players is: Eu: 16171; NA: 9745; BR: 3633; LATAM: 2347; Korea: 1474; Asia(not including korea): 9678

Using ranked distribution from July which lists 0.6% of the player base as Radiant/Immortal* we get approximate #s:

EU: 2.695 Million Players
NA: 1.624 Million Players
BR: 605 Thousand Players
LATAM: 391 Thousand Players
Korea: 246 Thousand Players
Asia: 1.613 Million Players

*This changes regularly but comparisons of playerbase between region should be good just not the exact #s

I am worried about the gaps in the schedule, particularly for teams that aren't going to champions or even that didn't make the LCQ... It is honestly crazy and I hope that Riot lets 3rd party organizers fill this gap

posted about 2 years ago

hasn't proved true with football/soccer ...
Though I tend to think that China will be good but will be a secondary region alongside KR and LATAM compared to EMEA and NA

IMT has been a financial disaster, all the orgs make fun of them including Carlos and some social media managers.

Asuna never made it out of tier 3, he was good but never was really developed. Yay played for some good squads and he had real experience in CS. I agree that talent will come grow from Valorant given the game's popularity so hopefully NA will stay good for a while yet

posted about 2 years ago

CS Never really seemed popular in NA, viewership for domestic events was not even 1/10th of what it is now for Valorant. The issue w/ NA CS was a pretty small talent pool when compared to EU. I think that this won't be nearly as big of a problem with Valorant given the current playerbase, active streamers, and Riot's support so NA Valorant will have more longevity than CS did.

posted about 2 years ago

this was just due to Covid though so next year it will be better :)

posted about 2 years ago

Yeah it is unfair and the earlier events were weighted 2 heavily, I hope they separate CIS TR and EU for next year

posted about 2 years ago

EU, usually doesn't include CIS...

posted about 2 years ago

They don't look practiced as a team, missing trades and taking fights solo. Also, the usual explanation is bad comms which shouldn't be happening at this level w/ the amount of time they have had.

posted about 2 years ago

But the fact that a team this high up in EU (Top 4 before this loss) is losing to the worst cis team after struggling against 2 TR teams shows that the region isn't as strong as we thought
Edit: Remember this team was competitive against G2 and Ascend and beat Liquid in Challengers 1

posted about 2 years ago

Damn, FPX out in last is a bad sign for EU

posted about 2 years ago

Does no one else feel that FPX are just overrated and our expectations should be lower? From what I've seen they don't seem to be adapting during games and they constantly have issues with dying early/not trading

posted about 2 years ago

IDK, Extra Salt are the only org to have picked up an NA team since covid began iirc

posted about 2 years ago

? These were the scores when the matches were paused...

posted about 2 years ago

Yeah Envy also has so much room to improve given the newness of this roster while it seems 100T may have hit the ceiling. I think a Envy vs Sen final could be an amazing 5mapper

posted about 2 years ago

Im guessing that they will push everything back a day (the 17th is a freeday rn so they could do this quite easily)

posted about 2 years ago

Really hoping for 1TR, 1CIS, 2 EU Teams in Berlin

posted about 2 years ago

TR Jett 2 stronk

posted about 2 years ago

we already got Harry who is one of the top 4 CS casters, so it could happen...

Quickest I can find is this: https://www.vlr.gg/27296/vision-strikers-vs-goma-champions-tour-korea-stage-3-challengers-group-stage-main-opening-c/?game=43353&tab=overview

Beats G2's time by less than 10 seconds lol. If they had won the 2nd round force they woulda had the WR

posted about 2 years ago

yes and if an EMEA team wins they would have 6

posted about 2 years ago

I mean RN EMEA gets 3 slots total vs NA 3 Slots total, I feel that giving EU 2(possibly 3) out of the EMEA 5 and giving NA one extra is pretty fair
edit: Also adding that EU is not guaranteed any slots at champions rn vs my plan giving 2 100%

posted about 2 years ago

yeah, do you think a play-in is the way to go or would you want it to be like Esl Pro League

posted about 2 years ago

G2 lookin better and better, literally anyone(except maybe Kolda) can pop off (reminds me of Sen tbh)

posted about 2 years ago

Yeah I didn't consider that and I think that would be the best option... Though the # of games might be insane w/ the round robin format that Riot seems to prefer

Sons* of steel

posted about 2 years ago

Yeah I was so sad when they got dropped right after reaching their peak(proving haters/cheat accusers wrong) and the fact that they never got to go to Europe is so sad :(

posted about 2 years ago

Here is my take of how many slots each region should get at champions

1- Berlin Winner(I like this slot as it makes winning Berlin an even bigger deal for the region that wins)

Circuit Point Slots:

3-NA
(Separate EMEA since most of the events to earn circuit points were already separated)
2-EU
1-CIS
1-TR
1-LATAM (Combine BR and Latam cause they already play and they don't deserve 4 slots total)
1-Korea
1-Japan
1-SEA

LCQs:
I like the continental qualification as it opens up inter-regional competition that we don't usually get to see. I think the current distribution should stay:
1-Asia
1-EMEA
1-NA
1-South America

This gives:
EMEA 5 Slots (used to be 3)
NA 4 Slots (was 3)
Asia 4 slots (Was 5)
LATAM 2 slots (Was 4) Sorry LATAM but 4 slots seemed very excessive and I couldn't give EMEA 2 more w/ out giving NA 1 more...
Berlin Winner 1 slot

posted about 2 years ago

they are guaranteed a slot iirc..

posted about 2 years ago

Xeppa + Leaf + Vanity = Godly core. #CreateChaos

posted about 2 years ago

OOPs I get it now lol. Tsm are eliminated from LCQ unless an NA team wins Berlin

wrong website bud

BabyJ and Shanks switch places, otherwise I like the list and reasons a lot

posted about 2 years ago

yeah, so the asunaa account is most likely also real

posted about 2 years ago

He didn't when these comments were posted

posted about 2 years ago

I mean at Berlin, it seems that riot are being generous w/ SEA and Japan as they are getting one less slot than NA each. I think that next year slots will be reorganized based on playerbase and viewership but all established regions will keep at least 1 slot. So it might be like South Asia 1 slot, Japan 1 slot, SEA 1 slots, Korea 2 slots and give some to CIS/MENA/TR w/ EU seperate

posted about 2 years ago

I mean Rise is cracked on Ascent and Split. Also, I would argue the Fnatic and Envy games were closer RD of 4 vs RD of like 13 vs Rise.

posted about 2 years ago

I mean Kanpeki used to play cs w/ Asuna which is why I considered it could be him

posted about 2 years ago

Real Kanpeki? If so, do u think Asuna's Anime Aimers reunited could be a top valorant team?

posted about 2 years ago

I have looked into the records and I have concluded that Asuna gets a lan buff. At the last lan he attended, he was one of the top 3 players and he played 20% better than his online average.
The world better be ready for Asuna to absolutely dominate Berlin!

posted about 2 years ago

Better Sage than leaf? Better omen than Koalanoob? I mean this is based on recent form but I feel like none of these are that crazy
