Well, regular franchising is basically a closed league with partnered orgs. This orgs usually buy their spot and simply compete in it. This is a way of ensuring orgs to have a save investment and something that is going to be stable.

This being said in Valorant we thought that is how it was going to be but it actually has very few things of those now that we have more information tho so technically is not really franchising, just the name we call it xD

Still, Jp a lot of views but the excitement of the game can't reach the levels of an Eu vs NA. Just putting together the two regions with the most viewers does not make viewers more interesting, you need storytelling to break records
