Stew got outed by sword9 and viva after they left jdg. He was known for running it down and ignoring comms from the igl, sword9 said he got in many arguments with stew because he didnt like the strats the team was doing and started missing full scrims, he also is super toxic in the server. He is like s1mon but way worse with much bigger ego

EDG struggle in bangkok and stage 1
S1Mon is then randomly subbed out of EDG for Jieni7
S1Mon starts shit talking (through implications) EDG saying that the team environment is so toxic, that they threw him under the bus blaming him, that they exclude him from everything, leaking wechat messages to fans
S1Mon fans start question EDG and flame the players and especially the coaches
S1Mon then doesnt go to the VCT Arena and dodges all promotional content regarding EDG
Aqua (EDG Manager), does a live stream addressing the situation and says that S1Mon made this decision, and that he is still officially the 6th man of EDG, he continues on saying that Jieni will replace s1mon uptill toronto because S1Mon is not working hard, while the jieni is out there hard grinding.
Jieni (who I can back up as a hard worker, and supported by many popular streamers), was a duelist main but is praccing as other roles in order to help the team (which is what s1mon actually did for EDG intially, but he doesnt seem to want to do that anymore)
S1Mon then goes and messages EDG managment, throwing the rest of EDG under the bus (especially calling out smoggy and nobody) saying they dont practice aim that much but its okay for them? But not okay for me? (These messages will be brought up again)
Kangkang, smoggy and chichoo throughout the whole thing is defending or in agreeance with Aqua, and said that they prefered playing with Jieni (nobody was sleeping)
EDG players then release full statements about the situation (TLDR: S1Mon is consistely fooling around in practice (on his phone), asking what he should do, being lost, not comming at all, not interacting with the team unless being asked to)
S1Mon fans start doxxing Smoggy
S1Mon goes on stream, defending himself, and pulls out all the wechat messages (confirming the wechat messages by aqua to be true) basically blaming smoggy again for doing the same lack of practice and that its unfair (conversations about proofs and camera pop up, and its pretty much confirmed that s1mon will leave EDG by toronto and either go back to taiwan or a different team)
Haodong says that EDG must adjust their mental, and that he still wants to go to toronto with his brothers, saying what is there to explode about? That he has been with his 4 brothers for a long time without upsetting them
TYL Sword9 (prev EDG sub) shows supporting for kangkang and says that if you are with the core 4 of EDG you are really blessed with an opportunity, why waste it?
BLG Whzy says that besides fighting with nobody (as a joke) all the EDG players are super chill and havent done anything wrong
Danking says that EDG are all fellow world champions, there shouldnt be a reason to fight like this online
Zmjjkk Aurafarms by saying that he wants to win even if he quits in a few years, he wants to stop the hate coming his way and enjoy his time
EDG has made an offical statement about the doxxing of players and is now taking legal actions (Smoggy also asked for people not to knock at his door apologising) and put out a bounty for anyone to catch the person for cash reward
Whole chat with aqua and s1mon got leaked, basically saying: "You did not practice" "ah but I did" "I told you to go practice x" "nuh uh" "I did practice x" "I looked at the footage buddy, u didnt "reply to me" "I did" "you didnt"
Overview: The general consensus is that all the past chinese pros and coaches who have interacted and worked with EDG said there has been 0 problems and the fact EDG members are being this serious means something very irregular (implying S1Mon is at fault), S1Mon from what I see doesnt really have anyone backing him besides small percentage of fans, no big names.

S1Mon is top 3 util, but thats all he is.
If you ever wanna pick up a player like him you need a superteam level teammates, and if you have superteam level teammates you are expected to work hard. S1Mon cant be a choker, have bad mental, be a bottom 3 fragger and not work hard.
He needs to get rid of at least 2 of these
S1Mon prob wont leave cn, no player in cn will want to leave cn. China orgs pay much more than any org in any region
Yes, chinese players are expected to work extrahard compared to the other regions, because 1 asian culture is an overworking culture and 2 china is behind and they need to catch up. Players like kangkang train relentlessly (like abo says) he is seen not sleeping grinding from morning to the next morning. (This is obviously too much for most, and just an example). So seeing a player give the bare minimum is looked down upon
Started being extremely toxic, threw his team under the bus, didnt put enough effort and created chaos within the team. 4 EDG members called him out on it
Stew falls under the same boat (hence I called out jdg) but he is more of an unkown entity compared to s1mon
With the removal of S1Mon official until toronto many question EDG's management and even after the crashout described by Aqua (EDG Manager Stream) Many still think its a bad move because "S1Mon turned EDG into a world class team"
This is just not true. EDG turned out to be so good because of the igl change to nobody (this can be seen on their champs run stream) was agreed upon to the biggest reason why EDG improved so much, yes s1mon utility helped edg but he is not even close to the main reason why edg got so good. If haodong was still igling for edg for example even with s1mon I dont think edg makes it out of the champs group.
S1Mon is a pretty great utility player, but his mental is tested over and over and its shown to be pretty bad, he crumbles under pressure, chokes in big moments, now accused of not putting in the work which doesnt slide in tier 1 (unless you are jdg) and overall a little bit toxic. Doesnt help that his fragging is bottom 5 in the league.
Until S1Mon fixes these issues I think having jieni is much better. Stop with the overall glaze
Slowly has been rated pretty fairly recently, everyone is realising that he is a top intiator player in china

Looking at this bracket I expect
EDG, BLG, TEC/NOVA to make toronto, but I believe XLG have solid chance to take that 2nd spot
I think nova with swerl or obone wont be world beaters, their calling still has some issues.
After extensive watching and vod reviews heres what ive got to say.
We are not winning toronto. And we shouldnt come close to it. Not one bit. Unless EDG awaken, or another team decided to be the best 5 players itw at the certain time, china is not winning. My point is that at the current state none of the chinese teams look international ready.
Dont get me wrong, china has improved a ton since 23 and 24, all of the teams look good, It is probably the clostest region alongside pacific. Every team not named JDG, AG look good (Yes, even Tyloo) BUT none of these teams look like world beaters, they all look good and thats it.
Like look at some of the players missing playoffs: Life, AAAAY, Autumn, Yosemite, stew, Slowly, waituu, (even scales now)
All excellent players, that dont deserve to be out of the top 40 but thats the thing, china isnt lacking individual skill anymore, china isnt lacking basic macro either. What china is lacking is consistent good teamplay and more complex macro.
These teams are still WAY to reliant on individual fire power like TE, EDG or NOVA causing way too much inconsistency and lack of hitting their skill ceiling. Some rounds there will be incredible set plays ready (Like what TEC did) but NONE of these teams look incredibly clean, they still make a ton of mistakes, they still overheat, people making horrible decisions, their ultility usage is wack a lot of the times, stopping any of these teams become top of the world.
So yes overall China has improved, its skill floor is much much better across every team BUT the skill ceiling is not high enough/consistently hit enough, for any of them to be real contenders unless they turn it around for toronto a top 4 placement is like the best im expecting, from what I see.

TLDR: China is getting better, but their peaks are too low/inconsistent to be real contenders in toronto
Thats not because whzy is washed its because kangkang became the best chinese player in tokyo (best duelist performance in that tournament) and became a world champion. Whzy didnt get worse, kangkang become much much better
