Japan future powerhouse

posted 11 months ago

I think that's just an intended loophole left by riot to appease both US, Taiwan and China.

posted 11 months ago

But I understand his gripes about zeta tho, zeta this year looked sooooo badπŸ˜….

Meanwhile I'm kinda glad dfm improves this year, but at the cost of zeta losing 😭

posted 11 months ago

It sucks as jp fan too, but money and longevity is definitely what jp needs rn and like deyahalajarma said , jp t2 are starting to look very promising, so it really depends on what zeta and dfm roster moves are.

posted 11 months ago

Because they bring in views, like the disparity between jp and non jp views might not be that visible in T1 compared to T2 but it's still visible nonetheless.

It's also at that time most of zeta's academy players are not old enough for franchising, and assigning hiroronn to initiator was always a mistake.

The t2 players at the time are kinda reluctant to play in T1.

Also I suspect that buyout clause plays a huge factor

Idk what to say about dfm πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

posted 11 months ago

It's not really a waste for dfm and especially zeta tho, those fanbase are really loyal ( although I am quite concerned this number are largely attributed to Laz)

posted 11 months ago

I probably said this like 10k times now, but zeta and dfm literally need a good roster management 😭

posted 11 months ago

Zeta or dfm , depends on their roster moves

here I was thinking that we finally get another new jp talent but it is what it is😭 , at least we still get to see what kai ubi , dan and tearz would do.

posted 11 months ago

Who could replace him? I'm betting on Yotaa for sure

posted 11 months ago

(speculation) Holy shit Gentle mates has just released Takas, is Yotaa actually going to Gentle Mates?

posted 11 months ago

Wtf lol, guess GE is gonna have a field day forming an academy teamπŸ˜‚

posted 11 months ago

Tf does he mean Zeta is looking for affiliated teams πŸ˜‚. Zeta just announced that they are going to field their academy players in VCJ and are now looking for new academy players.

(Unless I'm misunderstanding things again πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ)

posted 11 months ago

Actually GE has to look at T2 orgs as well. Because every VCL SA teams already paid a standard wage ( I have to assume), it's not ideal for GE to pay lower, so they had to pay at least as much as T2 teams do. So GE might not be paying peanuts (probably)

posted 11 months ago

Rushindra worded them poorly, what he meant is that GE will now form GE Academy ( which will play in VCL South Asia) and GE franchising. Usually academy teams are paid less than the main team for obvious reasons

posted 11 months ago

Rushindra worded them poorly, what he meant is that GE will now form GE Academy ( which will play in VCL South Asia) and GE franchising. So expect 2 different coaches for both rosters

posted 11 months ago

Not really, I think small teams had little bargaining power over big teams. Unless small teams are willing to pay higher wages than maybe they can compete, but at that point would you call them small teams anymore?πŸ˜‚. So nothing changes.

One of my concerns with T1 academy teams now playing in T2 is that it actually made the scene way more unfair for T2 orgs, especially Japan, orgs like CGZ and Igzist couldn't even qualify to sp2 and small orgs will be facing the same problem but bigger. So adding ZETA academy and DFM academy(yes they announced building one prior to the announcement, perhaps they knew beforehand πŸ˜‚) into the scene actually impedes competition.

posted 11 months ago

Guess we're having GE academy now

posted 11 months ago

I did(got forced ), can speak basic level, never liked it.

posted 11 months ago

ain't no way, he brought them to champions grand finals πŸ’”

posted 11 months ago

I care about jp tier 2 as much as you do brother🀝, but sadly not many even here share our sentiments

posted 11 months ago

This kind of relationship should be reciprocal, riot take care of the scene, and the community in exchange follow the scene thoroughly, when no one simply watches the scene, riot's hand will be tied ofc, even riot has its limits. It's been this way for a long time no? I don't think this situation is exclusive to valorant as well.

posted 11 months ago

Tbh yeah NZ particpation in japanese qualifier is so random πŸ˜‚.

posted 11 months ago

People only care about tier 2 when their scene is about to be merged/destroyed etc. But when nothing happens everyone usually doesn't give a fuck.

That kind of mentality sucks.

posted 11 months ago

Unironically true

Flair , but valid tho my heart really broke when heretics lost πŸ’”

posted 11 months ago

Wow, 32? That's like 90 in esports age πŸ˜‚. Do you think this is just a flash in the pan showing or the scene starting to flourish?

posted 11 months ago

They were , zeta had 6 coaching staff this year and 3 of them already lft(sieg) moved to academy team(junior) and become streamer(crow)

posted 11 months ago

Zeta - crow - sieg - junior

posted 11 months ago

Any notable players from the Czech scene?

posted 11 months ago

Brother it's covid, unless you have evidence ofc

posted 11 months ago

What happened to polish cs tho, don't they used to have the VP roster?

posted 11 months ago

I'm leaving my hometown for studies and the wifi is shit there, no point in raging about bad connections

posted 11 months ago

Bad example , Reykjavik had 0 crowd bro.

posted 11 months ago

Lol got downvoted for the truth

posted 11 months ago

Not really, he brought in drama and had nothing to show for in the end

posted 11 months ago

I think steel once insulted shahzam when his family member just died(?). That's a weirdo energy for sure.

posted 11 months ago

I dont think yotaa is going there , because removing yotaa means adrnking and ejay are useless now( there's no point in bringing them in when scarz don't have to comm in English now) , and doing that means scarz is losing their core and automatically withdraw(?),unless Yoshiii's japanese still sucks.

posted 11 months ago

But, prx had advantage and you can see TH actually fought tooth and nail from lower bracket to grand finals in both shanghai and seoul, that makes it much more impressive than prx tbh

posted 11 months ago

Is mada not good?

posted 11 months ago

I think next year emea will dominate tbh, they take the risk of getting T2 players which is very good. And even if they don't, they will secure themselves for 2026 onwards.

posted 11 months ago

No rank because I'm deleting valorant soon πŸ˜‚

posted 11 months ago

Yeah I think some orgs definitely are definitely favoured, which is why first mover advantage is a thing, for orgs like sen its no longer viable for them to just start concentrate back on local fanbase.

Might be tunnel vision but I think japanese orgs encourages a lot of participation which is what inspires this thread.

Actually does it even cost anything to hold an online event πŸ˜‚, aside from getting streamers to participate as long as it's a fan event I think it's just a time issue (?). Might be wrong tho.

The more I think about my proposition actually works for T2 orgs tho, they really can increase people's participation in T2 and not just watch T1

posted 11 months ago

Fair enough πŸ˜‚

posted 11 months ago

Common ground as in?

posted 11 months ago

maybe they should hold event in where they're based on at the moment, e.g if G2 valorant team is based on Studio in LA while your org is based in EU maybe they should market themselves more in LA and encourages more participation from the fanbases in LA.

I think if MIBR , Loud etc want to make their stint in LA worthwhile maybe they should start reaching to the NA fanbases to instead of just holding onto BR fanbase.
