This is what I see everytime i read my textbook or any academic writing I.e I don't understand anything

DFM announced building an academy team not long ago, this is probably to show commitment towards the scene, at least this might give riot an impression that they are a great org to have as partner. ( but I don't really think this is enough ofc).

Usually if you're good enough you'll get acquired like how riddle acquired 2023 zeta academy core( caedye , aace , yatsuka).
It might be possible for the team to disband tho.

posted 10 months ago

Welp I guess vcj teams really are visionaries , because a lot of them already invested in academy teams far before the announcement πŸ˜‚.

Why do you think franchising disencourages forming academy teams?

posted 10 months ago

I did have quite some concerns about Jp tho:

  1. No one watches sp3 . Need I say more .
  2. Ever heard of Striderz? what about Delight? Me neither until I checked this premier πŸ˜‚
  3. 16 teams might strain even VCJ's fianncials ( idk about this one tho).

I see , as an attempt to market the scene I guess.

I find T1 Academy teams playing in T2 to be a bit short sighted. The reason why Riot allowed this in the first place is two fold:

  1. The scene is unsustainable and no orgs are investing in T2 so T1 orgs are given the choice to join T2 in order to hold the scene in place.
  2. To gather more views due to the brand of T1 orgs ( I never see a bleed fan but ykwim)

But this is not great in the long run because:

  1. This is unfair for T2 orgs. Orgs are leaving because there's no point in investing in T2, adding academy teams solves nothing but making the problem worse, this is because T1 teams compete with a bigger resources than most teams
  2. This could discourages outside orgs to invests in T2. reasoning number 1
  3. This could potentially give T1 teams more leverage, unless there are much better candidates for 2027 partner reshuffle then this could lead to a situation where T1 orgs would just leave the scene entirely including T2 and in turn makes T2 unsustainable back again which is what riot intended (according to me ) to avoid in the first place.Β

Tbf tho, I don't see T1 teams make academy teams now, and I don't see why they have to do it, unless they're trying to show riot that they are willing to commit to the scene like Zeta and DFM did I don't see why T1 teams should create academy teams.
This is just my opinion tho.

Jp invests a ton onto vct
Kr due to talent pool ( but anything else kinda sucks which irks me)
SA ( no idea, sorry SA fans)
SEA can't sustain themselves so they have to be merged

Conspiracy time : As for Mongolia, it's probably because for sp3 the views are predicted to fall with no exceptions, riot anticipated this and had to save region that makes them money the most, Jp , meanwhile I have no idea why not merge with Korea instead, SA is too far and that only left SEA.

Ok so in my scenario there will be one day wasted not doing anything

posted 10 months ago

I'm thinking of opportunity cost tbh, but I need to know from those who know this kind of stuff

posted 10 months ago

Oh if we're going by that then I'll change it to 15 only to end up using 14 πŸ˜…( taking equipment, seats and venue preparation into account)

posted 10 months ago

Is it bad that if you rent a venue for 10 days only to end up using 9 of them?

Will there be a Clash of Nation event soon?

posted 10 months ago

The event was initially scheduled to be held in Tokyo but was relocated due to β€œsignificant event production delays and tournament quality concerns,” according to Riot.

Can someone explain to me specifically what are the delays and quality concerns?

But I understand his gripes about zeta tho, zeta this year looked sooooo badπŸ˜….

Meanwhile I'm kinda glad dfm improves this year, but at the cost of zeta losing 😭

posted 10 months ago

It sucks as jp fan too, but money and longevity is definitely what jp needs rn and like deyahalajarma said , jp t2 are starting to look very promising, so it really depends on what zeta and dfm roster moves are.

posted 10 months ago

Because they bring in views, like the disparity between jp and non jp views might not be that visible in T1 compared to T2 but it's still visible nonetheless.

It's also at that time most of zeta's academy players are not old enough for franchising, and assigning hiroronn to initiator was always a mistake.

The t2 players at the time are kinda reluctant to play in T1.

Also I suspect that buyout clause plays a huge factor

Idk what to say about dfm πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

posted 10 months ago

It's not really a waste for dfm and especially zeta tho, those fanbase are really loyal ( although I am quite concerned this number are largely attributed to Laz)

posted 10 months ago

I probably said this like 10k times now, but zeta and dfm literally need a good roster management 😭

posted 10 months ago

Zeta or dfm , depends on their roster moves

Wtf lol, guess GE is gonna have a field day forming an academy teamπŸ˜‚

posted 10 months ago

Tf does he mean Zeta is looking for affiliated teams πŸ˜‚. Zeta just announced that they are going to field their academy players in VCJ and are now looking for new academy players.

https://x.com/zetadivision/status/1827277167958295005?t=PIoS-zATte27VW1JvU6atA&s=19

(Unless I'm misunderstanding things again πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ)

posted 10 months ago

Actually GE has to look at T2 orgs as well. Because every VCL SA teams already paid a standard wage ( I have to assume), it's not ideal for GE to pay lower, so they had to pay at least as much as T2 teams do. So GE might not be paying peanuts (probably)

posted 10 months ago

Rushindra worded them poorly, what he meant is that GE will now form GE Academy ( which will play in VCL South Asia) and GE franchising. Usually academy teams are paid less than the main team for obvious reasons

posted 10 months ago

Rushindra worded them poorly, what he meant is that GE will now form GE Academy ( which will play in VCL South Asia) and GE franchising. So expect 2 different coaches for both rosters

posted 10 months ago

Not really, I think small teams had little bargaining power over big teams. Unless small teams are willing to pay higher wages than maybe they can compete, but at that point would you call them small teams anymore?πŸ˜‚. So nothing changes.

One of my concerns with T1 academy teams now playing in T2 is that it actually made the scene way more unfair for T2 orgs, especially Japan, orgs like CGZ and Igzist couldn't even qualify to sp2 and small orgs will be facing the same problem but bigger. So adding ZETA academy and DFM academy(yes they announced building one prior to the announcement, perhaps they knew beforehand πŸ˜‚) into the scene actually impedes competition.

posted 10 months ago

Guess we're having GE academy now
