Tln's Ascent win rate is 20% this year, and they've been stupid all year by picking Ascent first and using off-meta comps. If they play basic comp they should be able to win this time.

Split Deadlock now looks like a good pick.
Tln going to 5 Thai seems reasonable, and I don't really see a need for Primmie's spot there. He doesn't seem to play either Duelist or Sentinel well, and his playstyle is inherently too slow. Team have to invest too many resources to see a few Tiktok shots, I'm sure there are some Thai players who are more conducive to teamwork.
I'm just pulling your legs :(
I'm pretty happy Laz is coming out of his retirement
In their matchup history, Gen.G has won the smaller games and Sen has won the bigger ones, so this time it should be Gen.G's turn.
And no one got 3. NS also got 2 maps, What do you wanna say?
NS, like BME, threatened SPG with an 10-7 advantage at last map and, unlike BME, Never in danger of being 3-0. They won the two maps much more easily than BME.
In challengers korea, SPG lost five maps, compared to only two in Ascension.
During his complete sweep at Challengers Korea, the only map SPG used neon was on the Lotus; he hadn't used it much before Ascension. He played Raze for most of the match.
8 Team Masters is a deliberate choice by Riot to minimize costs while making the challenging choice to give up expected revenue to expand the scene. This year it was held in Madrid, where Valo isn't as much popular and is more League focused. Next year it's Bangkok, the first time an international has been held in SEA since the 2019 MSI. I thought it would never be held in SEA again.
You should know that all of the best teams in APAC Tier 2 combined didn't score as many points against SPG as the Korean teams did.
Gambit and Gen.G are the only two purely single nationality trophie winners. That's worth a lot more than counting the trophies of huge regions like the EU and SEA as a single region. EDG would be too if you include Taiwan in China, but that's like saying Canada is a colony of the United States when they're classified in the same NA. But holy this guy's regional categorization is ridiculous...
It doesn't matter. if you can get a deal, because selling broadcast rights is a huge money maker. You can expand your scene with that money.
But no broadcast station is going to pay for esports.
The bubble burst after COVID and hasn't recovered. Many esports organizations are in perpetual deficit. What makes esports different from traditional sports is that you can never sell broadcast rights, and while a soccer stadium can seat 50,000 people, an esports arena can seat 300.
Ironically, the first modern esports, the StarCraft scene, was born in the TV era. Korea had two cable stations specializing in gaming, Ongamenet and MBC game, which meant you had to pay for cable TV to watch games. With the rise of Youtube, both stations became unprofitable and disappeared. You'd hope that esports would make it to TV, but historically, esports have been pushed from TV to online.
The game is over. And the president will be impeached and sentenced to life in prison. Life goes on as usual for everyone else.
To be fair, MF has been a below average player for most of his career, both internationally and domestically, but his recent form since Champions Seoul is definitely better. He's grown up.
True strength is shown on a bad day, not a 13-0 game on a good day. Remember we used to think of every game in DFM as an upset. The scores have been close and Meiy's performance in the playoffs hasn't been great, but they keep winning. They're a pretty solid team. Rock hard.
It's simple, Esports is a sport where single year is everything. Whether Ssess is 29 or 45, if he's better now, he should compete now.
Disaster teamwork. 4-0 pistol, split 15-7fk and lost.
Old DRX: lose Pistol rounds, fall behind early, then pull off comeback win
New DRX: Win every Pistols, leads early, then go downhill rapidly from the middle to lose the match.
Real ramen tends to be overly brothy, whereas instant is clean. If it's Shio ramen, the real thing is much better.
Congratulations, I praise you guys for enduring 3 years of infinite pain to say this one word, now go and wait for the next 3 years.
Esports is a sport where a year is everything. Whether Ssess is 29 or 45, if he's better now, he should compete now.
Did you know that this is the first time a Japanese team has beaten PRX since Reykjavík, and it's never been 2:0?
History.
I dont mean it's a good mindset, but it's pretty common to dislike domestic rivals more than international opponents. You don't necessarily have to root for a team based on nationality.
Good bye gyen
Did you know that DFM is the only undefeated team in this tournament?
I said. DRX beat Pistols 4-2 and got steals in both of the two second eco rounds . Complete early game domination. They had a lot of gains, but still couldn't overcome PRX's veteran teamwork. Especially Pearl was almost unprepared. On the other hand PRX's Pearl hasn't changed much from their heyday.
I think this roster could be the strongest DRX ever, but PRX with the first game is tough to beat. They were even embarrassed by Talon.
Academy teams are not eligible to compete in Ascension.
NS cannot run an Academy as there is a maximum of three Academy teams allowed in one Challengers League, and NS has already confirmed its dissolution after Split 3.
At the pro level, “Jett player” means Operator Specialist, not just picking a jett. If you can't shoot OPP, you're not playing jett.
How a 'pro player''s champion pool are Raze Reina Sage lol
It's clear W for NS, but very few teams actually field a 6th player. They will do so to avoid losing contracts of the players, but it's a big L for the Korean scene. With the disband of NS, there will not be a competitive Korean team at Ascension 2025.
All five members of the SPG have been signed and are confirmed to remain on the roster. Just some of the NS members will join the Reserve roster.
The winner of Challengers Korea 2024 was SPG, and the runner-up was NS. They threatened SPG in the finals to the point where they were on par with BME (unlike BME, they took one set in the playoffs).
In Split 3, NS kept their power intact compared to DK, who had a poor roster. They were the big favorites to win. Then NS suddenly acquired SPG, and NS is set to disband.
Riot said that five of their players would be seeded for Challengers Korea, but NS decided to add some of their players to SPG's roster (most likely Xross, the top Korean talent). The most competitive Challengers team is now shattered. 2025 Tier 2 will be dominated by Academy teams, and a random mediocre team will represent Korea in the Ascension.
DSG looks very good, so we may see a two-time Ascension winner in APAC as well.
Most former DSG players have signed with Chinese teams, but Vera is still available
They have completed the term of their contract with their original team. Is it a betrayal for a player who is a free agent to sign a free contract with any team?
Isn't it a little unfair to be an animal for knowing something you don't?
There's a beauty to this randomness in terms of entertainment. This is especially true for short-term tournaments.
Shin ramyun got S tier, so I have no complaints about anything else.
Termi just got married, so it's unlikely he's banging Hynix's mom...I think what he's feeling is tough love. As you know, there are some people who have a tremendous desire for Old drx.
But New DRX might will be the strongest roster ever, and his hatred will turn to worship.
I can't help but say the same thing about the last one. What do you want, a ton of attention for japanese teams? were DFM and Zeta big international favorites? did they win masters or champs? of course no one cares. a bunch of Ascension losers found teams this offseason, do you know them all? it's only natural that people are only interested in their own teams. No wonder people only know Meiy! Of course, "curious" is also relative. GYEN got a little bit of attention at vlr because no one had ever heard of him. ART got a few people saying "who is he?" because no one had ever seen him play either. I mean, more interest than the three Ascension qualify losers. Not everyone in the world.
They started getting everyone's attention after they beat champion EDG, and you know how absolute the change in perception was afterward.
Quit twisting my words around plz. I gave a generic reason and you're picking words. Fennel lost. Riddle also lost. In a tournament that was clearly below Tier 1 level and had no meaning other than winning. Say honestly, you don't think BME will be a top VCT either, do you? I'm just saying that Fennel players are at that level. I'm completly not interested in their story or possibilities, just like you're not interested in the possibilities of Koreans.
The "unfair criticism Laz has received" is also just a comment on his skills. Why should I be criticized for not caring about Hirorons environment for you? Do I need to know his human suffering for you? He's just one of the worst tier 1 players in my eyes. cuz his stats are. Laz's stats aren't. 'Unfair criticism' means that.
"Hiroron level players" is quite literal. Hiroron only had a rating of 1.08 even in his champion season, and I only say similar because Clz and Xdll are also 1.0 rated players. It doesn't mean anything else.
Can't we just take it literally? Plz, Couldnt you hold the end of my sentences and do not use ad hoc arguments? You're over-emoting and saying you don't understand people who don't have emotions.
TLN v ZETA post-match interview. He praised all his teammates and even said he's become a fan of hiroron, but he didn't mention Yuran at all. You know that means something clear to a typical Japanese.
I think Yuran's work ethic issue is true because Laz, who is a real polite and quiet gentleman, didn't like him and gave him a sideways criticism.
Because nobody rates the Fennel's 3 core players as highly as you do. Fennel ruined the regular season and also lost to Riddle. And what happened to Riddle at Ascension?
Just few doubts Syouta, but he doesn't go into a team with Laz, he replaces him. Laz got all kinds of unfair criticism, but he was the best Japanese player in stage 1, and the second best in stage 2 behind Meiy. Are you sure a tier 2 player will be better than him?
Other than Syouta, the other 2 were mid players in tier 2, just hiroron level players, so the team basically hasn't changed. DFM on the other hand is making people curious because nothing is known about the players.
As you said, some people underrate them because they don't care, but many people see them low because they've seen enough. It's hard to call them unfair.
His mechanics also look quite well, but that's still an unknown as we can't judge from one or two matches.
However, he uses his init skills much better than Lmemore. I have never seen him fail to get a kill with Sova ult since red bull, which is very impressive.
