You're totally triggered, and I didn't ask for it, Of course you make me a racist. You're the one who started it. enjoy your league on SOOP.
Dude, esports are free to watch. Viewership, no matter how much it is, doesn't create value in and of itself. Riot only makes money from kiddos who watch and get excited and spend money on the game, not from game watchers. VP is their only income! how many SEA kids do you think are going to pay $50 for a skin?
Esports doesn't have a revenue model in the first place. Of course Korea, the only LAN league, even Japan with its fanatics, groans in the red in Tier 2. SOOP's example is actually closer to a healthier revenue model: traditional sports make money by selling broadcast rights.
I was trying to be sidetracked, but you guys demanded I say more, now do you gonna make me a racist? I just want you to stop making cringing sounds.
I can understand your frustration as your viewing platforms are limited for whatever fucking reason, But you guys are taking out your anger on Koreans right now. Don't bring conspiracy theories to a pure money issue.
Doran and On are assholes, but Rakan is the champ what makes assholes look like not-assholes. HLE give it to him for free, and now only Doran is an shit. That's why they lost.
Of course they're scared. Not Riot kr, but Riot as a whole. Do you think it's because Koreans are jealous? No. It's because Riot will never make a dime in Asia when that happened. There's no broadcast rights revenue in esports, so all Riot can make is from selling skins, which no one will buy when SEA gets cocky. Riot desperately wanted China to succeed. To sell skins. So surely they wouldn't want the opposite to happen. You're right its 100% money issue.
That's because SEA viewership has no any real value, and selling broadcasting rights for a fixed price is a good business. It went from a bottomless pit suddenly being a profitable business. Riot isnt weirdo, SOOP is. If someone asked you to buy a rock for $100, why don't you sell it?
All the stats and records in Japan are unreliable garbage, no matter who the player is, but trust Termi's eyes. he's made every signing huge success except foxy. It's unfair to take one failure and say he'll fail the next.
Rather, it's because T1 treats their players well. He hasn't healed from his wrist injury yet. While he is without a job, T1 provides him a streamer contract. If he find another team(even during the season), they will let him go instantly.
That's his choice, bro. T1 is not locking him up in a contract jail. They never do that. You can get out when you want to get out, as long as you're not a faker.
Very challenging, It's compared to Zeta, which is stable but seems unlikely to qualify intl. Meiy no longer has to play 'FK or lose'.
There's nothing there anyway, so we should watch the matches to judge. He might be Yuran, but he might not be. For example, You know Syouta's ranked stats are so terrible that it's questionable if he's even a professional gamer, but he's the most consistent farmer in tier 2.
btw Does Syouta prefer duelist? I've seen rumors that he doesn't like that much.
idk but I think it will naturally be a bit closer to XQQ's old zeta.
That's not a bad thing, but those types of duelists need someone to do the 'dirty job' for them. Like EG era Jawgemo.
Without such a player, the game can become rather stiff and slow. I think that's one of the reasons for slow tempo of tier 2 Japanese games.
dude I didn't rank them, I just don't think they're on the same level just because they played one close game. And since the teams are so close and the rankings are relative, there could be a lot of teams between small differences. For me its hard to predict even who will go to the playoffs.
I haven't seen a Japanese duelist with the same aggressive and sacrificial playstyle as Dep. Meiy is too, but he demands a lot of init skill sitting. Most Japanese duelists are half-baiter style like Demon1, Saya, and meteor when he were duelists, and Syouta is one of them, so it would change the whole playstyle of the team.
SPG won not once, but twice, and in the final, despite so much tech pause and the world's most biased L crowd, they won. Persia said the crowd was so loud that SPG had to switch their Fade comp to Skye temporary measure on site.
DRX's “ruthless attrition” strategy feels right, and they will one day be able to build a team of five flashbacks. Maybe as soon as next year. With so much talent stacked up, dropping players who don't make a quick splash in Tier 1 is understandable.
Well, I don't know what the future holds, but the buyer is weirder than Riot selling the broadcast rights. If someone offered to buy you a rock for $100, why wouldn't you sell it?
Selling broadcasting rights at a fixed price is a good business. It's even better in regions where the value per viewership is low, like SEA.
gyen's ranked stats don't look very good. I'm not one to judge players by their ranked games, but since we don't have any yet, that's the only way to evaluate him.
I have no idea who gyen is, but jinboong and akame have a similar rating record to meiy in tier 2. ART is probably the best possible Japanese IGL,his game feedback is different from the typical japanese team's 'Nice try' culture.
It really has nothing to do with that, it's just a name that mobugi, the team's CEO, chose his favorite Spanish phrase Sin prisa pero sin pausa seemed to fit the players cuz they were very young.
What exactly does “Obvio cabron obvio” mean? SPG's Twitter account was all over the place. I thought they were spam accounts, but they were real fans of SPG.
Surprisingly it seems that there are quite a few Spanish speaking fans just by having funny Spanish names.
T1 literally burns through $10 mil a year on their LOL team. Even if they give their Valo players the best treatment in the industry, it's peanuts to them.
Gen.G also spent $7-8 mil this year on LOL, and they could spend as much as T1 for a year if they had to. However, they are not a large company owned org, so they tend to be extremely cold in their player evaluation.
Coach Solo was asked by a Korean commentator on commentators YouTube channel if he thinks all members of Gen.G will re-sign, and he replied, “Well... I'm not the one paying them,”
European dudes are less resistant to accepting sports teams with no or few homegrown players as your own.
(Nevertheless, in the case of LOL, rumor has it that In LEC, Teams has different sponsorship sizes when has French/Spanish players versus Eastern European/German players).
In Asia, on the other hand, nationality is much more important. No offense, This is not to say that they're all nationalists, but "Asia" is just a way of referring to a bunch of linguistically and culturally disconnected countries.
Assuming that national teams are formed for asian games, indo seems a bit scarier because they have a lot of players with great careers and name value. If Thai players play well next year, things might change.
The pace of progress in SEA is impressive, but the gap is relative. You guys have to scour the countryside hoping boys with the fast click speed gene will show up to build your team, while we have large industrialized factories producing killing machines.
Brofeld is pretty good, It's strange that CGZ didn't qualify last season even with him, hyunmin, and DH.
this dude seems to be making the same mistake really repeatedly
Well, it's clear that jingg has a brainless playstyle, but at least he's quite good at neon.
jump peeking to see the operator and then dying with just plain dry peek with neon is literally awful.
I don't think ken is anything either, and also I think it's hilarious to discuss future potential of Import, but I just wonder if you'd say the same thing if he had a JP flag in front of his nickname lol
xccurate is likely to remain a streamer for T1. iZU said he's going to Japan with the T1 squad. His wrist injury hasn't healed yet, and T1 usually guarantees streamer contracts to players who declare a break.
Hellnah, of all the matches I've ever seen in my life, this is the most egregious example of the Japanese team's inability to attack. Not just this map, but all of maps 1 and 2. Something we haven't seen from Riddle.
The level of this game is far from high, and it's just dizzying because it's constantly going on. There's no tension at all.
If they didn't like the salary offered by the GENG, there's no way the DFM can catch them.
It can be argued that BME got what they shouldn't have gotten, but at least they didn't take SPG's place. SPG got what they deserved.
In fact, he was shunned by Japanese tier 2 teams due to his toxicity. However, Akame has always called Art a good igl, and I've also heard rumors that Jinboong is quite fond of Art. From a Korean perspective, he might not be seen as very toxic. Cultural differences.
Art is a good choice, I don't think he's any better at game calling than Stax, Munchkin, or even rookie Francis, but he has one very important advantage : You can't easily imagine a Japanese guy getting in someone's face and pointing out their problems directly. Art does.
From Riot's perspective, there's nothing strange about that, because starting next year, SEA will be one region. There will be no distinction between MYSG and INDO teams.
SPG has beaten BME twice. Not once. Anyone would be annoyed by this situation.
Giving both teams equal rights is odd. Riot arbitrarily removed Bleed's right to remain in Tier 1 for another year, so why not arbitrarily give someone an advantage? Riot should consider doing something like giving SPG priority in relegation defense.
If it was a real “super rich org,” Riot wouldn't have kicked them out. Can you imagine T1/GEN getting kicked out? BLD had severe stability issues and were reportedly judged before Champs.
I think the Duelist/Sentinel spot in APAC Tier 1 is full. He was one of the highest paid in the Pacific, so I don't think he's going to try to go to Tier 2. In his long career, he's already made a lot of money. If he doesn't get a satisfactory offer, maybe he will retire.
They've won 16 straight games since the current roster was assembled, never losing a game. Legendary run.
T1 can spend more money than all of your shitty SEA teams combined. Of course, that money is almost spent on completely useless things.
