That's fair, thanks for answering the question. I wish she at least tried to file a police report, but I digress. I guess we will never know if he was a SA or not which kind of fucking sucks. No one was able to get their justice.

posted 11 months ago

Really? With a case as big as this and involving SA, you would work with RIOT? If there was one thing Sinatraa did right in this, it's not choosing to work with Riot over an SA case and only choosing to work with actual law enforcement.

posted 11 months ago

Can she not bring the full audio clip or text messages to the police? She had evidence right, a lot of it was posted on twitter.

Never said that all people who make these accusations online are lying. I just said I don't think I would've done the same thing, but I'm NOT judging her for doing so.

Sinatraa is a piece of shit, but we don't know if he's a rapist and there was much more of a chance to convict him (especially with the evidence she posted on twitter) if she at least attempted to cooperate with the police (apparently she didn't even try to file a report).

posted 11 months ago

Yeah, the one part I can agree on is that it did ruin his Competitive career. Thing is, he didn't get punished by the law at all, still has a sizeable fan base, and is still making money streaming to this day. Not much of a punishment if you ask me, if Sinatraa was a rapist, I would say that he got off scott-free in comparison to the consequences he should of received.

Not to mention the trauma it caused to the person who accused Sinatraa. It didn't work out for either party imo.

posted 11 months ago

he chose to cooperate with police, not Riot I believe (I wouldn't trust RIot either imo)

Riot did NOT like that at all lol and the rest is history

posted 11 months ago

I thought he cooperated with the police and not riot, but I could be tripping

posted 11 months ago

What's bringing it to twitter going to do? There's going to be people taking both sides (especially since Sinatraa is a popular streamer) and all it will do is cause both parties to be harassed. Settling this shit in private is what I would do, but if some people believe that taking the matter to the hell that is twitter is better then that's there choice and I don't think it's wrong, it's just not what I would do. As I said before, I can't judge because I haven't been in a SA victim's shoes before.

posted 11 months ago

If we are talking about what I would want personally if I was wronged/SA I would want that person in prison ASAP. And there would be no better way than settling that matter with the police.

But everyone deals with situations like these differently so maybe some people do believe bringing it on twitter is the best way their abuser can get punished. I'm not in any position to judge.

posted 11 months ago

that's true, I'm just saying regardless, twitter is one of the worst places to do it

posted 11 months ago

Some may call me ignorant, but I'm genuinely just asking here. If people have proof that someone did something criminal, why don't they just take it to the police instead of trying to make that person face justice on twitter of all places?

posted 11 months ago

honestly valid, sometimes it's just more fun to watch the shit then actually do the shit urself i feel that

People are saying he should be forgiven because he's a good person who made a stupid mistake. And I'm sure that's true. But this isn't just any mistake, this is someone else's reputation and career. Most of the time, slander never completely goes away and when that slander is about something like child rape, well, it's obvious how serious this mistake really is. Also, when people act like he was completely neutral and wasn't trying to push a narrative, I can't help but chuckle. When he reached out to the accuser I felt like he was doing way too much. That kind of made me think he was doing this for the attention rather than trying to inform people.

However, he only played a part, the main perpetrators are the ones who mistranslated this shit in the first place and I feel like sometimes people forget that and place too much of the blame on Butterfly.

posted 11 months ago

To be honest, I can't believe that people are still saying he did nothing wrong. He's not the main guy to blame, but he def contributed to the defamation of Flashback. If someone posted news saying I engaged in child rape when I did nothing of the sort, I would be enraged; these weren't small accusations these statements are life-changing. Information is power and you must handle it responsibly, Butterfly did not do so.

posted 11 months ago

Dang how are u addicted to vlr shit is more stale than stale bread

posted 11 months ago

main blame def goes to the people who mistranslated this shit in the first place. Butterfly did try to do too much and he does deserve some fault for that, but in the end of the day I'm sure he thought he was helping people by getting this news out there.

For the opinion part, that's not what I'm talking about. Some of the posts, you can tell he was trying to push a narrative. Whether it was to help people get more info or gain attention we will never know. for example, he said "judging by the original thread, said player was not behaving nice and was most likely forceful" and a person replied to that saying "there is literally a numbered list of everything he did, not once did it mention him being forceful". The tone in some of his messages insinuated that the allegations were true when there was no evidence.

People are saying butterfly just made an accidental mistake and that is most likely true. It just doesn't take away from the damage his thread caused.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention he reached out to the accuser. He was just trying to do too much imo and it backfired immensely.

posted 11 months ago

why hate the player then? How does that benefit anybody especially when jingg seems like a nice guy.

posted 11 months ago

I don't hate butterfly and while he does take some of the blame, most of it is to the guy who mistranslated it in the first place. Addressing ur points:

  1. Fair
  2. Not entirely true, if you look back on the posts of that thread, his own opinions on the matter were clear and it showed in his replies.
  3. I would say it's about equal. He def knew that what he posted was going to be big on vlr and that people were going to attack the person that was being accused regardless of whether there were conclusive facts or not. He should have the common sense to understand that doing so would bring more unwarranted attention to a player that possibly didn't commit the crime he was accused off and imo that was a very big fuck up on his part.

My third point kind of goes into addressing your last part, if no one knew what actually happened, he shouldn't have posted anything in the first place. And at the very least, shouldn't have continued replying and making it seem like it was the next big scandal of Valorant. Saying he didn't cause any harm to both Flashback's reputation and career would be false, he's just not the main guy at fault.

I do agree some people are going way too far though.

bulkylettuce is a loser who baits for fun, but misinforming people that a pro player engaged in child rape and severely negatively affecting a pro player's reputation and career is way worse no? Plus bulkylettuce is a cutie patootie he doesn't deserve to be put on the same level as someone who slandered a pro players career. If bro puts one more Aspas fdr thread tho I change my mind.

posted 11 months ago

that's what annoys me, the fact that he wasn't able to stay neutral and was trying to make it seem like it was guaranteed to be the new big downfall/scandal of a player when there was no real conclusive facts

posted 11 months ago

The person translating this entire shit should be fired from ever using the internet ever again

posted 11 months ago

That certain situation is still his fault, but think about the contrast between something like that happening and raping a minor. That's a huge difference and his name is forever tarnished cause of a mistranslation. He will be known by many as someone who did something way worse than what he actually did and that in my opinion is a crime. Slander about a topic like raping a minor is something I genuinely don't wish on anybody.

posted 11 months ago

Gyattebayo! And it's all over my screen...

posted 11 months ago

Whatever it is, I just hope he's not known as the person who raped a minor. Cause that would really fucking suck and is just horrible slander.

posted 11 months ago

Depends on the details. Was it a heat of the moment or was it forceful with malicious intent? One's an accident and the other is on purpose and imo that makes a huge difference morally. If we don't know the details we shouldn't judge. Look at how that turned out the first time.

posted 11 months ago

Not just him, everyone who jumped to conclusions before there were any conclusive facts also contributed. This is why Innocent before Guilty should be the standard.
