Academy teams are going to be a game changer.
Whilst it wasn't the only thing which made EG in 2023 great, it certainly had a big role in their improvement.
Being able to try out comps and strats on demand is a huge advantage imo. You can schedule scrims whenever it suits you and you'll have the comfort of knowing you'll never need to play against them in officials.
I think the quality of play is going to definitely go up for the teams who decide an academy team is a good investment.

With that being said there are some glaring issues with the idea, first of all not being able to play in ascension is a huge blow, imo you should allow it but ensure another org can get the team if they win ascension

Look in to some coaching. If you can't afford it there are many streamers who do it for free (although there are some requirements, and you might have to wait a while)

org country ≠ player countries all the time

look at Spain for example, you have: KOI, TH and GX
all of which brand themsevles as 'Spanish' but don't have any Spanish players (outside of F1tinho, who is now inactive)
KOI had koldamenta in 2023 and after underperforming they removed him, which is very similar to what GE did in 2023 and 2024.

The best you can hope for in this case is an academy team, which I believe they've expressed interest in doing

FNC are a British org, yet I don't really care if they have British players or not, I still support them. (2025 is likely to be Boasters last year I've heard, so next year they should in theory have no British players). You are welcome to not like GE, it's your opinion but I think if you expect them to have Indian players simply because of their location it's a bit short sighted imo
