the rivalry is between the countries, in everything and usually koreans have a hate boner for everything japan.
it's mutual, actually.
But the younger generations are more friendly with each other.
oh didn't know it's mutual, thought it was just one sided by korean because the colonization.
in japan's social ladder it used to be koreans almost at the bottom rung. its because japan used to view korea as a barbaric and inferior country in ancient times (they had this same mentality towards almost all of asia). nowadays i believe that most young adults in japan understand the atrocities they have committed against korea and other countries so we get along mostly fine. i hope to see this rivalry end and we can be good friends.
I don't think so, some KR Kpop bands have huge fanbases in Japan (DBSK, BTS, Twice). This is old story from WW i think
It goes both ways and it’s not really an issue recently, I’d say the two are pretty friendly, at least in Valorant
You realize though that the hate boner comes from the crimes committed in WW2 though, right? The fact that their education system pretty much says “there is no war in Ba Sing Se” and that your average JP person has no idea what their previous generations did
