so if GE nukes their roster next year (they wont)

that means theyd have to field 3 indian players no matter what?

so people are basically forced to watch 3 players who arent tier 1 worthy play in tier 1 bc of import rules???

Only if GE chooses India as their region. There’s no confirmation necessarily that GE HAS to choose India as their region. Now with that being said, their roster doesn’t fit any subregion’s import rules bc they don’t have 3 players from any subregion

yea but the partner slots are divided up by region right? or is that wrong

feels like this shit would just lead to some filler teams

Not necessarily, we don’t know. My understanding is that partner teams can choose any subregion within their overarching region but there’s no confirmation on that

Usually t2 players aren't bad, they might js be wonderkids who can't play bc of labor laws or sleeper players ynk

Current partners will be grandfathered. They dont need to change anything despite choosing any sub region

but if they make any roster changes they need to make those such that they go towards/keep 3 core of that particular sub regions, going forward.

Bro you are so naive if you think this roster will stick regardless of GE getting a slot or not.... All of their contracts except udotan will expire next season... What makes you think other orgs will not be offering them bigger amounts than GE

They will choose the SEA region and will try to keep the roster. They are doing a partnership with Rnt who has some operations in SEA. Also GE had a history of international teams like their Overwatch. They also brought in some sponsors giving them some financial support and if they get a partner slot they should be able to keep this roster.

Generalised tldr:

  • New teams: Need 3 players from selected sub region (Citizens afaik) + 2 imports.
  • Old partnered teams:
    • Have 3 players from selected sub region : Can make any changes while maintaining 3 regional players.
    • Dont have 3 players from selected sub region: Immediate changes need to bring in regional players and going forward maintain atleast 3 regional condition.

Note 1: (Afaik) Any team can apply for any region but each region has limited slots which isnt open for public knowledge (yet)
Note 2: (Afaik) Teams dont need to keep the same 3 regional players, they could potentially switch them for other players from the same region.
Note 3: (Afaik) Teams only maintain their Champs points and tournament positions as long as 3 core of the original team stays, 1-2 can be changed. If more are changed they lose their champ points and start fresh. (Afaik) these needn't be the same 3 regional players.
