I’ve watched every m80 game since NiSMO rejoined as a player, they’re good but the gap between tier 2 teams and tier 1 teams is big nowadays

the guard core won ascension dropping two maps out of fourteen played with net and tex, two of the worst north american tier 1 players ever, on the roster. they weren't a T2 team they were just on the wrong place for some reason
Gap is not tiny whatsoever, ascension teams are never good in tier 1 without making big changes

If it was the bottom 4 of groups, I'd be inclined to agree with you but the issue is by making the play ins the bottom 8 of the groups (4+4 yea they might not be the bottom 8 but you get the point), a half decent team can sneak in and just win everything. The only real problem is if they can keep up a streak long enough to get out of play ins but the best out of the 8 should be able to just roll everyone else.
this team will 100% make playoffs, they'll probably finish 7th/8th but they are still better then quite a few T1 teams.

ofc there is a gap. The fact there is a gap doesn't mean they can't own a lot of tier 1 teams. I believe in m80 and we are fucking winning champs
Champs is a bridge to far imo, however they have a bunch of tier 1 talent that fits together and a tier 1 coach in Kaplan. I think they are live to make it out of playins but I’m a little worried their map pool just got very weak with fracture and pearl rotating out. Mainly pearl.
I mean Kaplan historically has pretty good theory on Sunset but he is pretty 50/50 on new maps so I'd just say m80 perma ban summit.
