none of the newer hondas they have had trans issues idk what it is with the newer gens ones but there are clear issues with it and reliability.
If you are in india (assuming) considering everything in the world right now he could go the route of getting a petrol car but long term it'll be well expensive. he could go the hybrid or on the full EV side. The BYDs and Jetours of nowadays are all decently good and will only get better as time goes.
I would go the BMW route if doesn't mind the high maintenance costs + consistent oil leak issues that BMWs are known for.
However without knowing where you are and that friend is currently resided I can't make an informed decision and give you reccomendations
