Imagine being a top 5 GC player being able to frag out in T2, but since your to afraid to take the leap of faith away from that fat GC paycheck into T2 hell, your talent rots, withers, and dies. And then you retire at 23.

this was lowkey my plan i wanna turn 18 hit immo3 and rot in gc for the rest of time
your team been doing the same thing with that guy but hey WE qualified to the mickey tourney
Bro you know you can just grind co-ed once open qualifers start up, why don't you wanna become good enough to actually compete, even if you at a disadvantage, it's obvioius you can still do. I mean there are at least 10 GC players who have arguably got to the point of T1 skill level
there are no "fat paychecks" in gc unless you're on srg or team liquid
even those orgs are paying less than half of tier 1 salaries
Talking about GC players that are good and are on a top team, and ik those orgs are paying more than pigons
like obviously the two best orgs in the scene are paying more than unbacked tier 2 orgs
Problem is there's not much going on for tier two either so it's just a better business decision to farm GC and stats and kill your career in the league instead of even thinking about tier two or one and being at the highest level. Which fucking sucks because all it does is put gc even further back than it should in terms of developing and showcasing new talent, since all the players who are at the top have been there for a while with no plan of moving on to bigger and better things because the paycheck for gc tourneys are easier to obtain that being a better player and competing at a higher level
i just dont understand why gc always gets blamed for tier 2 not getting enough support like gc and tier 2 are genuinely in the same boat
Tier two just needs more incentive (more money.) and gc has to penalize players who are playing in both leagues. Ideally there'd be conflict in schedule or some shit so players have to choose tier two rather than half assing both leagues
yeah i also think that if u "graduate" gc and play in tier 1 or 2 you shouldn't be allowed back into gc, at least for like a set amount of time
agree, the whole point of GC is to get out of the league, not stay in it, so GC should only take players that weren't in tier 1/2 for like, somewhere between 6-12 months. After that amount of time would i think it to be valid to come back to GC
I also think GC doesn't disincentivize leaving it once you've reached the top enough, and tier two doesn't encourage sticking to only tier two enough. That's why already well off without GC players continue to play in it, and honestly I don't like that very much.
bob started playing pro before gc even existed, she won first strike oce
and yet bob is still in the same place she was when she started playing coed.
I juste hope the further GC team will go into Open qualifier, more point they will have to incentivize
it's more that most t2 teams/cores aren't as willing to pick up from GC, whether from a talent perspective or team chem or connections to other t2 guys in scrims
next year's format will be good for t2 and GC squads both
