You'd think it'd be all the annoyingly min-maxed pokemon that seem to get stronger and stronger every generation(which is a problem), but no its the stupid ass support pokemon they add like Incineroar, Grimmsnarl and Sinistcha that you literally get handed the most annoying moves, stats, and abilities in the game.

how does competitive pokemon even work do you get to choose your own pokemon in a league-type draft or do you have to go catch that shit yourself
It used to be that you had to catch and train your own but now since they moved to champions, champions lets you get every pokemon in game(apart from one really OP one) through a gatcha draft like system that you can use in game currency to draft more pokemon, and then you can also transfer in your own pokemon from other games as well. And then you can use in game currency to train your pokemon in any way you want. Also it is pretty easy to gain currency in the game so you don't really ever have to spend money which is nice.
