Gotta get rid of Rarga for sure going into next year if they want to punch higher at internationals, you can't just have Happywei and an occasional Lysaor carry and hope to do anything. I think the most important piece is upgrading Rarga in international performances, but it's hard to do cuz you kinda want a proven player.
Going into next year players who will (pbb) be FA at some point and could compete for Rarga's spot are:

  • Whzy
  • Stew
  • KK (not happening lol)
  • Glacier
  • Spring ?

Out of them the top priorities should obviously be Whzy and Stew, but it is highly likely that BLG just renew Whzy and I don't think XLG could compete with BLG financially unless they chose to cut their costs more to favor the League team.

If they look for imports the big names would be:

  • Derke
  • Marteen
  • Something (not happening)
  • Jinggg (lolll)
  • Jemkin (HUGE opportunity imo)
  • Primmie (not happening)

Imo the top possibilities would be:

  • Whzy
  • Stew
  • Marteen
  • Jemkin

Then imo they could try to replace NoMan but there's no guarantee that they'd get an actual upgrade cuz his vibes are so good. Next year the top FA flex players available for T1 (reminder : 2 imports will be allowed) would be:

  • Smoggy (not happening lol)
  • Spring ? (if he can be considered a flex, I'm willing to accept the possibility cuz it'd be exciting)
  • Minny (yes he counts as flex)
  • Seven
  • Akame (if he has good english idk, he's massive on flex)
  • Patmen (not happening but who knows)

Honestly XLG Spring or Akame would go kinda hard.

TLDR:

Daddywei [senti]
WsLeo [init] (IGL)
Lysoar [smokes-senti]
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Whzy [duelist]
Spring [smokes-viper-duelist-fade/tejo]
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Stew [duelist]
Akame [flex]
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Jemkin [duelist]

Seem like the best options possible

They need a mental coach asap if they aren't swapping players

They are swapping player for sure but I agree, I've always said that Hvoya's mental seems at least as bad as Rarga's, it really doesn't help to get the ball rolling post timeouts

I think Jemkin/Stew are the ones they can realistically pull, I don't think they're a particularly rich org that could 1) outbid other CN teams or 2) pull some of the bigger names

jemkin has the same problem of international underperformance
its replacing one unconfident russian with another

I think if Jemkin has a competent team alongside him he will perform internationally. He has a strong mental from what I know, Toronto was quite a disaster but it was his first event and he played fine at champs considering how ass Argh Argh Queue were

Yeah, from what I can remember (glancing at the stats it seems to be correct) Jemkin may underperform but he's still the best on his team internationally. Explains why he's the likeable member

It was mostly rrq crumbling as a team in internationals tbh. It's hard for duelist to perform well when your whole team crumbles. Also it was just 2 internationals. I think jemkin deserves another chance and in a better team.

assuming like XLG is bigger org than BLG or RRQ bruh

So we're just not reading shit now are we?
And wether RRQ are big or not doesn't really matter here I think. I highly doubt Jemkin is interested in staying there forever

i mean the salary, just like whzy in BLG they def arent letting him go anywhere, its the same with jemkin

literally what I said there

highly likely that BLG just renew Whzy and I don't think XLG could compete with BLG financially unless they chose to cut their costs more to favor the League team.

and again I don't think it's a thing for Jemkin, he will most likely want to move on from RRQ and I highly doubt XLG's salaries are significantly below RRQ's

#31
Reznor

RRQ isn't letting him go, trust me, also XLG is like the most mid/poorest org among the CN teams do you really think they can afford that? They came up from Tier 2, picking up nameless players from t3 like WsLeo and Noman. As an organization, they aren't that big either they just pick efficient players who somehow work well in their roster

#32

CN orgs have more financial power than any other regions, being mid in china means being in the top 4 in every other region
And Jemkin is the definition of an efficient player who does well in a system imo

#33

i mean just look at their roster theyre nameless cheap player coming from out of nowhere but somehow it works, also i doubt XLG even top 20 org in CN its just overglazed, as overall org and looking at their players so far i doubt it, bet u never see XLG in other esport either compared to other CN team

the only reason for that is that the rest of SEA has 0 representation in T1. it's only Indo with RRQ+forsaken and a little bit of Thai with FS, TS is the most incompetent org in the league and GE still clears all of Indonesia with a random SEA mix
There's barely any Indo on RRQ anymore lol, and everyone knows Kushit is a fraud

Ngl you can probably keep Rarga but have him role swap off of duelist

#21
MrBlooBloom
0
Frags

Imo considering keeping an underperforming player by roleswapping him should only happen when he has a playstyle issue correlated with the way the team needs him to play on his original role. It is not the case for Rarga, the only reason he plays poorly is his bad mental. You pbb think putting him on smokes (the logical move to me) would relieve him from some responsibilities inherent to the duelist role and allow him to relax a bit, which is fair to think, but I don't believe in that and I also think that Lysoar is, for a reason that I don't really know, a particularly valuable player even tho he isn't that good individually.
It's not something I'm necessarily against in itself but imo XLG need to move on from Rarga's mentality to keep improving and that means getting rid of him

lysoar is a crazy good shooter, he just overheats and makes some pretty bad choices

#30
MrBlooBloom
0
Frags

and I think there's a reason he was part of all of FPX 2024, Wolves 2025 and now XLG 2026, even when he isn't playing well individually he pbb brings a lot of good vibes and good comms to the team as well as way more experience than most players in china

he's not a bad player imo and replacing him might not be necessary but if they could find an upgrade it could be significant for the team. It's not a priority for sure

Whzy - not good enough english
Stew - we dont know whats happening with him
KK - yknow
Glacier - downgrade
Spring - downgrade + not a good duelist

Rarga is fine btw

#41
MrBlooBloom
0
Frags

The whole point of letting go of rarga is that they won't need english comms anymore

And no I don't think Rarga is fine, he had 4 international events in a row to improve and he has not reached the level necessary to keep his spot imo. If they want to keep the same mid international level then sure but if they want to have real potential they need to make the change
