Japan is a bit better but they have a harder group. Japan is likely facing some strong team in knockout round of 32 after groups as well if they make it.

Yeah they have been quite unlucky this world cup. Lost mitoma and also got a hard group and even if they make it out of groups they will have to face some very strong teams. Japan will have to play at their absolute best if they want to make even top 16.
Japan. Shown the capability to beat Brazil and England in last 12 months. Korea's best players started to age whilst japan is in the best form (Ayase Ueda, Keito Nakamura) with many players experiences playing in Europe. Hajime Moriyasu also the better coach, he's been developing these players for last 8 years.
