For Masters, instead of double elimination bracket it was single elim, with a third place consolidation match, but EVERY match is a Bo5.
Week 1 can be Round 1 (4 matches - 1 per day)
Week 2 can be Semifinals, 3rd place match, Grand Final (4 matches - 1 per day)

Also every match would feel much heavier because of stakes, and arguably more entertaining

kickoff this year had 1 more bo5 than previous years... it was the triple elimination format that made it fun, because the shit teams played less games and the games were more even.
yes but combined from all the region it has 4 more bo5 on top of 8 which is a lot lmao and creates more high stakes matches. EDG vs DRG, FNC VS TL, FNC VS M8, MIBR VS FURIA, MIBR VS NRG, NS VS RRQ, RRQ VS PRX. Those series were so much fun to watch because they are a BO5 and has high stakes. Winning a BO5 makes it feels so much deserving to qualify to an international
and what make them so good was the fact that they are rare and that was final. would you have enjoy zeta ts or kc TL in a BO5 ? also you can’t have 2 match in a day that will be too mutch (also not mentioning M8 BBL when talking about cinema BO5 is criminal)
have you seen kc play? i would think i would enjoy them playing a BO5 lol. And the op's point doesn't say the BO5 will be a regular day on regional though. Only in master's playoffs where the stake are the highest. And i still stand by my point that qualifying to an international or a grandfinal by winning a BO5 makes it so much more deserving to the winner because it reduces variance
i think lower bracket and grand finals being bo5s is the part that makes things entertaining
imo i feel like if we make every match bo5s it just wouldnt feel that intense anymore; and also lower bracket allows for a lot more storylines that i enjoy
better idea that i saw a while ago, do double elim until top 4, then each team that would have been in the upper final get matched with a team that would have been in lower round 3, and they play a bo5 where the upper team has map ban advantage, lose and your out, win and you go to grand finals, which would be an even bo5 with no map ban advantage
imo it makes the grand finals feel a bit more fair, since some grand finals have felt like steam rolls due to map ban advantage (not all, just some)
