gpu doesnt have much impact for valorant tbh processor upgrade would do more for you unless ur gpu is like 10 years old

Up.

Upgrade CPU. If you cant, upgrade motherboard then cpu.

actually i upgraded it (idk if actually upgrade) from i3 8gen

unless your GPU is wayyyy worse than your CPU upgrading it won't do THAT much for you

the old gpu is integrated uhd 630, so i considering just buying the new separate gpu

ah okay yeah id buy a new gpu. valorant is a really cpu intensive game, so normally the CPU is the bottleneck but if you literally dont have a GPU that will definitely be the bottleneck.

not sure about local prices for you but you could potentially get a 1660 super used within your budget

however you need to be careful that everything is compatible, your motherboard is very old so you cant make any huge upgrades with cpu/RAM, and your PSU may not have enough wattage for a big GPU. it might be better to just save for longer and start fresh (if thats feasible in your local economy)

you dont need a 1660 super for a cpu that old for valorant tbh unless youre going to upgrade it later down the road

you could probably run like a 1050ti or an rx580 8gb if you get a good price and just run that

Since the i5 7gen i have rn, prob i gonna use it for 2-3 years before considering changing the whole setup, so i may need something compatible for now

have you sold your i3?
also is your pc like an actual gaming pc with a gaming pc case or is it an office computer like a dell optiplex for example because that might change what graphics cards you’re able to get

Since i just spent around 120 dollars to change from i3 8gen to i5 7gen, so the only left i have rn is for gpu, maybe i could upgrade psu too if necessary

Do you still have i3 8th gen motherboard if yes, then get an i5 9400f cpu used (8th and 9th gen use same socket) and an 1050 gpu used both should come under 160 dollars easily

not anymore, anyway i just upgraded to i5 7gen so basically i cant afford anymore, just gpu and maybe new psu. but can i ask if playing vlr on HDD is it bad? becuase my vlr seems to have stuttering and sometime its takes so long to ,loading to the game

I also have valo on hdd but windows is installed on a seprate ssd
If you have dual channel ddr4 then get a used am4 motherboard b450/b550 and a 5600g cpu(this cpu has good integrated igpu so you wouldn't need gpu for valorant ) this combo should be under 160 dollars in ph

just save your money and buy new for everything
go for amd cpu
I have amd ryzen 5600x and 1050ti(was planning to upgrade but not needed, i only play valo)
400-500 fps in valorant(300 lowest when there are a lot of smoke, ults, etc), if I stare close into a wall i get 900 fps

buying a separate gpu wont do anything, also your motherboard is too old

help a brother out i also have r5 5600x and a lot of times during heavy ults or chaotic situations fps drops to 140ish, but in "normal" situations its around 300, any ideas to why such low drops?

Since im a student and only having limited budget, that is all i can spent for, like i only need vlr to run 100-150fps is fine. Not having enough money to change the whole pc

I would still recommend that you save that money.
Even if you get some extra fps by "upgrading", in 2027 or 28 you will be back to 70+fps.
I said that my lowest fps in-game is 300+, but 2 years ago it never dropped lower than 500.
What I'm saying is that valorant is getting heavier every year.

I really recommend that you buy a new desktop set.
BUT, if you really want a GPU, then buy a GPU that you can still use when the time comes that you can buy a new PC.
Be careful with compatibility.

i will take note of this, so what gpu you rcmd me? maybe something like you said that i can use untill i upgrade new pc

#40

hmmmmmm........ gtx 1650... it's 8500php at datablitz...
You can still use that in the future but if you will build a new desktop set, you can also sell it then buy a newer GPU.

Btw what student are you? college or high school?
I'm thinking you should get a part time job to build your own dream pc.

It doesnt have a power supply pin, you just plug it into the motherboard
If your current power supply is at least 400w, then it's good

rx6600 looks good for that price or find a second hand rtx 3060/rtx2080 if you can

rx 9060 xt (16gb) is performing good rn
there are some models under 300€ but they are probably the 8gb version and not worth your money

i recommend nowadays a card with atleast 8gb for budget
try looking on the used market

or maybe try looking at intel arc gpus
great modern budget gpus from what i heard

hi in your use case you are severely limited by your MOBO in terms of upgradability and the integrated graphics from that period is horrible value

i would go buy a cheap 80 dollar AM4 mobo and pair that with a Ryzen 5500 (GT version) for around 100 dollars, you would get atleast 180-220 FPS on the iGPU with the 5500GT

also you wouldn't get the FPS boost you need if you upgrade your GPU since valorant is just CPU intensive

is it goin to be a waste, like i just got my new cpu and new mtherbrd ju9st 3 days ago. i afraid i may not able to spend more again, then everything in ph is abit pricey but i will note ur cmt. thankyou

plenty of used stuff over at facebook marketplace. if you can get a cpu+motherboard combo then that’d be a start cause 7th gen intel is pretty old

if you have a friend that has experience buying from fb then they can help, otherwise look out for bundle deals on pc stores

i get you though, scams do happen so id personally only agree to a meetup where i can test the part on my pc with the seller

ryzen 5600g its a processor with integrated graphics you could get 180 -200 fps in vlr then you can also invest on better gpu if you save up enough
edit: yes its amd

My recomendation is getting used a 1050ti/rx 570 bcs they should be cheap get an ssd and just save money until you can buy a more modern pc dont waste more than those 160$ on upgrading

valorant is very cache bound not compute bound. So cpu with fast cache like amd is better. just get budget current gen cpu. you can get 200 fps with ryzen 5 5600g with on board gpu (yes dont even need dedicated)

#47

For ur reference i tested valorant with same processor different gpu

Test on Ryzen 5 5600X cpu with RTX 4060 gpu and GTX 1050 gpu.
Result: No difference

Valorant is almost fully cpu heavy so i will recommend going for cpu first. However if youre low on ram like 8gb maybe upgrading to 16gb can be good too but considering the ram prices rn maybe you better wait a year or so
