Sometimes I wonder if Pro teams throw the playbook in the bin as soon as a map is out of rotation. Fundamentally all of the maps have a set play pattern which needs modification with the meta but as soon as we see a map added back after a while it seems most of the teams are lost on it. Ex : Fracture, most teams struggling on the map just don't do defensive pushes and wait for an exec to happen and then get stomped. Pearl, if you don't use your util to get side info you miss your defense side rotation etc. Only a handful of teams do well with map pool changes and thats why they are on top but at the same time the teams struggling surely can figure out how to play a map on a fundamental level by watching teams like FNC, G2, PRX etc.

part of it is probably practice right? like you might know subconsciously that you should push on def on fracture but remembering it/knowing how to execute plans when playing it in a match for the first time if you havent incessantly scrimmed it could be hard
but true nonetheless, teams do need to be more adaptable imo
they dont play the map plus the meta is changed
the last time fracture was in the meta yoru was good
now yoru is ahh so you have to kinda throw the playbook in the bin

Well lets take fracture for example, G2, FNC and PRX have never used Yoru on that map, also the good teams on Fracture in 2025 also never used him so Yoru didn't affect the meta. On the other hand prime Tejo + Breach was the meta but the point still remains the same, if you don't do defense side pushes and just default on side to get exec on with breach stun, tejo mollie, neon stun etc you will always lose the site. Meta only affects the agents you run on the map but these maps have a fundamental play pattern. Why do you think FNC is the best at Lotus irrespective of meta because, boaster knows how to play the map on the fundamental level. He may need to change his plans according to the meta agent but even with prime Tejo, FNC shit on teams playing the same Raze, Omen, Viper, Fade and KJ comp.
The only reason why PRX,G2 and Fnc are on top because they stick to their playstyle and adapt according to meta while other just follow the meta
