Japanese scenes and their players are extremely mickey if theyre not the dominant force in an esport. They don't wanna learn english to get better offers and potentially better chances at winning. They wanna stay in their own bubble.

Watching Meiy feels like an absolute waste of time. Dude is an incredible player but I know his ass would rather stay in Japan and just be a farmer next year. I personally hope Japan doesn't get a partnership slot next year because this region does not give a fuck if theyre not completely butt fucking the rest of the world in a game.

even if you free him he's not willing to adapt and learn english so he has more options
he'll just be a teamless good valorant player

You can't free someone that wants to be imprisoned.

oh shit i misread what you said
yeah but there was nothing stopping meiy from learning english either... these guys could've just kept trying to join either russian teams or korean teams

my thinking is that these russian and korean players joined these foreign teams because they already knew english, which allowed them greater opportunity

and if meiy tried learning english for a year and joined a foreign team he might be like the apac comeback

it is frustrating but it kinda overblown if u ask me

They signed non-Japanese players, they kept their market alive, huge fanbase, also technically, they even ain't out yet
it's not like Meiy deliberateely wants to lose either, he just wanna win with his own team

I'd say we chill... lot of youngsters in Japan and next's year would be a different playing field

They have indeed kept their market alive and are extremely popular but they have not improved a single bit save for DFM now being able to win games compared to what they were doing in previous years.

They feel like theyre just here for the vibes and that frustrates me. Even the players themselves feel like theyre here for the vibes. If a player that had Meiy's skill was from a country that was just as mediocre they'd have their passport ready by Kick-off.

The region is brimming with talent that haven't and will never go to tier 1 because tier 2 japan is TOO lucrative and the players in top VCJ teams make more than some of the best teams in tier 1. There's no point in taking offers from tier 1 when they pay less.

If next year a Japanese team is not contesting international tournament spots i genuinely could not give a single fuck how talented they are. Because ive been hearing the same shit since 2022 about how the Japanese scene got real shooters. The only person that decided to leave the JP scene for greener pastures is Something AND HE'S NOT EVEN JAPANESE.

Izu, Jemkin and Hyunmin are also VCJ players. Doesn't really help that none of them are japanese but yk.

That's true i forgot about Jemkin and others but yeah it still proves my point it's hard to care about a scene that doesn't wanna actually put their homegrown talent out there. (Or they themselves could care less about big trophies that aren't japanese)

Yeah thats the reason why Korean Valorant is also trash.

Wait.

No thats an horrible reason lol

Korea would probably also be mickey if Pacific wasnt played in Seoul. Probably more so a one team region cause DRX was actually doing stuff pre-franchising (and actually have the passion).

Eh, two teams, maybe three. Realistically any riot title in esports and T1 WILL make sure they have a foothold in it somewhere. same semi goes for gen.g.

3 KR different team have won a title, isnt that more than full EU cumulated. I think only NA did beat them
