why do you need winners in group stage, you can give points for wins and draws and you'll have your group rankings or just apply the same tie breakers as now
also more free time is probably time riot could use to give us third masters
Because then teams like 100T who are only good on like one or two maps would farm points, or you would get a team like TEC who always somehow manages to take 1 map off of opponents getting points despite them not being good.
how is this an issue, people can just ban one of your one or two good maps, and playoffs would still be bo3s because you need a winner for each series so your "issue" is no more
But it would end up allowing teams that don't deserve to go to playoffs in as long as they just draw over actually winning.
with bo2s you could have : 3 series instead of 2 in one day (guaranteed to see 6 maps and 6 teams play) + you would be done with group stage in 3 weeks, instead of 5 weeks with bo3s
then you're stuck either having draws (lame) or matches being decided on round diff (even more lame)
draws are stupid in a game where individual maps can't have draws, there is always a winner. artificially introducing them makes no sense.
in the same way, having the win con for a series happen midway through a map is stupid aswell, the series can end but the map has to keep going.
you don't have to decide match winners, matches can just end on draws, just use round differential and stuff to rank teams in a group for playoffs qual

and why th would draws and round diffs as tie breakers would be lame
because winning maps is cool and doing maths to figure out if a series was good for a team or not is lame

its only good when you have many teams, here we have only 12 teams, its not a good format for vct

This is the pain I go through to watch my favourite team play I actually don't know who's approving this

there is no way to play Bo2s without a clear winner, because:
Team1 win map 1
Team2 win map 2
draw
bo3s are the best decision for regular season my opinion

also i really dont think any valorant team would want to end games on a draw
ngl it’s not a terrible idea like everyone else is saying, in fact this might make groups a bit more fair too, since everyone will play the same amount of maps
however for casual entertainment, most fans like to see an actual winner, so i doubt this would ever happen just cause it would risk viewership
