why is eveyone pretending kyu was gods gift to valorant and he got dealt a shit hand by the org

Him and kaplan did not have a good read on the meta and his calling was mid at best in kickoff ?

it got exposed in kickoff and they needed to make an adjustment once they saw the other na teams weren't fucking around with their rosters

You usually cook so I'm guessing you're balancing W's with L's. I respect that.

Kaplan we can understand but kyu wasn’t given enough time is what the community is complaining. It’s like babyj ec1s type of situation only difference is kyu got to play 4 games for sen

Lets take inventory of who they lost to

Furia - fair they are really good(flair)
100T - close 2-0 but still a 2-0, finished 5th in kickoff
Lev- who had the worst macro next to loud

These losses are alarming

I would expect a "growing" t1 igl to be able to outcall that lev team with ease

and yeah he played for officals but this was one of the earliest roster locks in the offseason and they have been scrimming and playing off szn events for a while.

they had the right calls and ideas but threw too many man advantageous rounds in the lev game

That game feels like a millennium ago so I would have to go back and re watch

Point being you should not get bounced out of kickoff 2-0 to that lev roster playing horrible macro, with a coach with no anti, and not to mention they were fresh with their roster adding neon in around that time( I know they were scrimming with him during the pxs games)

i was a big kyu hater before kickoff but tbh it seems like Kaplan deserves most of the blame for sen failing not only in kickoff, but in 2025 as well

sen had reached their ceiling in 2025's kickoff and pretty much never got better. outside of beating g2 in stage 1
their prep was really bad and they only looked good because americas was so incredibly weak last year (same with MIBR, sans NRG matchup at champs)
fast forward to kickoff and you're putting your star duelist on an agent he's bad on but also uncomfortable on, and to combat this you swap his role entirely instead of letting him play his comfort agents who are still viable in the meta
he honestly should've been fired after bangkok 2025, but i understand that the coaching market was pretty dry. imagine though if they got bonkar shortly after he was benched with verno by NRG

you lost me here

fired after Bangkok is lowk crazy. Hindsight, yeah, they lost to two teams who didn't do anything in Bangkok but they had the right meta read which set them up for success domestically personally i feel like the 25 roster didnt work bc the team chem sucked, narrate tilter, bang gone from day 1 in off season says alot, and i can tell zekken was lowk getting fatigued(speculation final boss)

Sen this year missed the mark on meta meta read so yeah blame kap for that but imo after 2 years of success it seems like a over reaction

thats all true and all but sen couldnt commit to a rebuild, which is what this year was meant to be. So from his perspective, it seems unfair

It seems pretty obvious from robs POV he did not want a rebuild and the comments being made on the sen account prolly came from the coach/manager.

Mixed signals and mixed goals from management is bad yes, but at the end of the day they weren't were they thought they should be given the circumstances

As much as I love M80, I am not sold on him yet. I agree, everyone thought he was hot shit and then turned to be a fraud in kickoff. But Kap had one bad Stage and everyone dogging on him. I still think M80 under Kap is gonna be generational

Yeah I think the criticism is harsh, esp given what he has done for the org. deranged sen fans seeing there team do poorly in 2 years and the loud minority is just side effect of a clout org. I think kap will do great hes proven he can be great

kap had stinkers all of 2025 lol and his strat was basically send zekken to his death

#28

Kap literally wanted Zekken to turn into TenZ with Omen. Because they had success with that in 2024, he figured why not and keep him as secondary duelist, while up and coming talent can be primary. It seems dumb in theory but could've worked out if MIBR hadn't given him a deal he couldn't refuse

#29

i don't think that's what zekken wants, he still wants to be duelist but he got offers from teams to be their smokes and if he's gonna be a smokes then why not play smokes for aspas than narrate lol

yep he wasnt better than p0ppin or vora in tier 2 last year, not sure what sen (who if you listen to rob moore, aspire to be wayyyy better than 100t/envy) saw in him to justify making him the centre of their rebuild

I think its different mouth pieces saying different things, I'm speculating coaches and management who really knew the current state of the roster said the goal was a rebuild and rob echoed it in the off season. and then when push comes to shove and he sees classic sales rev and merch rev decline he pulled the plug and started looking for band aids

The vision for the org and the vision for the team did not align

Rob wants buku bucks and peak viewership, ie with the addition of tenz who while talented, doesnt really slot in to this new core role wise.

and kap wanted to grind and build a new system with a fresh core
