as a guy who has lived in india for a couple of months, even if everything else might be semi-cooked in hygiene, indians take ass hygiene very seriously (good on them for it)

Yes people do get upset when you dont tip because employers intentionally give lower wages to incentivize trying harder for tips and bc they can barely afford rent and health insurance
tipping is as good as non existent unless you go to a fancy restaurant since everyone is usuallly decently paid in asia (they add tip to the bill and you can take it off if you want)
