In my personal opinion, first seed going into an international shouldn't be so rewarding. You're playing against teams you scrim 24/7 in your OWN region, and get an insane advantage heading into an INTERNATIONAL. For example, NRG and G2 played 7 matches and didnt even get to the grand final. Nongshim played 3 matches and got to grand final, WITH ban advantage.

thing is (at least from what I've seen) NS would have won regardless of their seeding, they are too good

Im not here to discredit NS's win. Im saying just because you got #1 on your own region, doesnt mean you should get a free 3-matches heading into an international where youre playing against teams not in your region. Its quite unfair for a team to play 6 maps just to go head-to-head on equal grounds with a team that didn't play at all the whole tournament.

They were in their kickoff form buddy. Coming into an international, they should probably start off on equal grounds. Not having an advantage just because you beat teams from your own region.

also usually the 1st seed curse exists and the 1st seeds just lose to groups teams that have momentum (3/4 group teams won this time, 4/4 in Toronto, 3/4 in Shanghai).

they should make it so that we have a 12-team swiss, where the 1st seeds have a 1-0 bye or something idk

Thats better. Or just not have seeding advantage in the first place. You play your own region to qualify, you play starting on equal grounds against other regions. Im very sure no teams play kickoff with the mindset of "lets get 1st seed". Theyre all playing to qualify. Teams dont care that much yet the bracket makes it such an advantage
