So basically I don't think the current format is bad but since we barely have any big tournaments throughout the year I think the masters and champs should be longer and I think the better way of doing that is changing Masters and champs format starting with masters.
so, first of all I don't mind the first master being like this but when I first saw that the first master will now have 12 teams instead of 8 I thought the second master will have 16 teams but of course Rito didn't do that so I think second masters should have 16 teams with no Swiss stage instead we'll have a group stage where we'll have 4 groups of 3 teams at each group or 4 groups of 4 teams at each group with first seed having the ability to choose which group they can join the same way first seeds pick which Swiss stage team they can play right now. Also 4 teams or 3 teams in each group will have one team from each region ensuring no regional match ups occur during the group stage. Now moving on to Champs
So, for champs I think it should be three stage tournament first stage being Swiss stage, second stage will be group stage, and last stage obviously playoffs. And instead of having 16 teams it should have 20 teams with a twist now instead of having Challengers team play the playoffs of stage 2 one challenger team from each region qualifies for champs directly as 5th seed. 1st, 2nd and 3rd seed will go directly to Group stage of champs and the 4th seed and the challengers team will play with each other in the Swiss stage where only 4 teams will make it to group stage than we'll have 4 groups having 4 teams with a Round-robin system regional match ups can happen here and after that 2 teams will be eliminated and 2 will go the playoffs from each group leaving only 8 teams in the playoffs this way we can having longer tournaments and somehow a challenger team can make a miracle run too.
you guys should let me know what you think about this
