can anyone explain to me why the current majority kpop songs sound like frankenstein abominations of music?
The older one either were annoyingly catchy or were literally just a regular song in a known genre but sung in korean.
The current ones sound like sound collages with dubstep kinks all over it, and thats not even mentioning the Godawful random english words with zero context or the weird hip-hop segments that transition into melodic segments with a background sound equivalent to hearing a robot rape a pressure cooker.

What the fuck happenned? the songs arent even generic pop enymore, they sound like what a grandma would describe experimental techno+reggaton sounds like

all the music is made for tiktok clips and edits sadly :(

kpop is just a hyper-capitalist trend slop generating machine, so anything they do nowadays comes from tiktok

except from new jeans, they kinda cooked

a lot of the music nowadays gets catered for tiktok trends ngl which is how you get slop like the stuff Katseye puts out

It's a trend in music in general tbh, kpop is just the biggest sin for it bc of how highly corporatized and synthetic a lot of it feels, as opposed to the west where many people start out as independent musicians
