Since 2023 Emea have had two teams- Heretics and fnc they were always the worst region as a whole
That is just false. Even last year EMEA was easily more competitive than Americas and fighting for first with Pacific(outside of champs playoffs where it was still close with americas, and pacific fell below).
? Liquid got grouped at every event, Heretics got straight belt at Toronto and vitality was the only team with a respectable international run other than fnc
Liquid still better than Sentinels outside one event they had visa issues in, also they imploded in Champs and didn't paly their level at all. Heretics was shit but topped their Champs group and finished top 6. Vitality top 4. Fnatic 2 international finals. GX made it to Champs playoffs.
While if you look at Americas there's G2 with top 4, top 8 and top 2 finishes, MIBR with top 6 Champs run, NRG won Champs and then you have Sentinels being dogwalked by EMEA and had China only playoff run. Even in Champs where Americas obviously performed best they still placed same outside of NRG being 1st and Fnatic being 2nd. While in Champs Pacific performed worse than Americas and EMEA.
and I'm mainly talking about regional competitiveness. Americas was owned by G2 and Sentinels for most of the year and it wasn't even close. EMEA had competition especially towards the end with multiple good teams. Comparing stage 2 playoffs level EMEA and Pacific were higher than Americas and that reflected on Champs expectations. Like I said NRG and partly MIBR Champs run saved Americas.
