NRG Win Masters Santiago

NRG will win Masters Santiago because they made the only upgrade that made sense AFTER a win. s0m wasn't a case of s1mon or patmen, where EDG should have replaced him after winning champs and PRX should have dropped him after Masters Toronto. If S0m wasn't leaving, they should have retained him. If not NRG, the next team to win B2B again, like FNATIC, will be a team that wins an event and then brutally drops the weak link. EDG could have done it, PRX could have done it. I think PRX can win as well. Teams need to stop making the mistake of retaining their roster simply because they won. I called the dropping of S1mon and Patmen before they happened, and I did it because these teams were signing up to lose for the sake of being nice. NRG had the golden opportunity to upgrade the only person who could be upgraded and found the best possible upgrade. NRG will be winning back to back.

"edg should've replaced s1mon" is an odd statement because both of their highest placements ever were when he was on the roster

they haven't reached anywhere near the same heights without him

i called the dropping of patmen and s1mon well before they happened

this isn't like an oracle thing from you btw, if anyone were to be dropped when they started performing bad it was them

in both edg and prx, the two you listed are widely seen as the most "replaceable", does that mean they provided nothing when they were on the roster? no, you can't win a trophy 4v5

most people disagreed with me, just go look at the threads. In hindsight its obvious, but most people defend these players in the moment

of course people will defend, it's edg and prx, two of the most kpopified rosters ever

people defended jonahp too, I said he should be dropped when they had icy on the team. I said him and icy need to be dropped and everyone defended jonahp. G2 isnt "kpopified"

jonahp was also the most replaceable on the roster, and at the time it didn't make sense because he's been a part of the core since 2022

also doesn't help he was replaced by a podcaster

but people said he shouldnt be replaced so it wasnt obvious but i agree he was the most replaceable

in this case, yes it does

s1mon regardless of how well he could shoot provided a kind of support/util that edg needed to get over the line. i very well think they could've gone back to back at bangkok had there not been such an internal implosion

if s1mon is so good why dont teams just pick him up? he has played in ascension and is on a tier 2 team, the market has decided that he isnt a tier one player and they are correct.

from what i've heard s1mon in under some sort of contract jail with edg wherein he isn't allowed to play for a tier 1 team

at bangkok, apart from chichoo the entire team was in a slump; had chichoo not been pulling crazy plays edg wouldn't be 3rd; at champs s1mon was a major factor but internal issues needed him to be dropped, also he was great when breach was strong, he would have been impactless for the team regardless as edg lacked a solid yoru player and gameplan not initiator util

the teams thought they would be better off without them, and they understand the internals better than any of us. EDG would be doing even worse if they kept s1mon

Sure we know that now, but strictly gameplay wise there would be no reason to consider this up until the very point they start doing bad. we didn't know about edg's internal issues (or maybe it wasn't even happening) right after champs
