i play 0.135 1600 dpi
but i just watched a vid that said if i halfed the sens and played 3200 dpi id get reduced input lag + more smoothness
is this ture? if so, is it to a relevant extent?

Reduced input lag but like microseconds
No difference really

Use any dpi
Some pros use 400, 800, 1600

The guy who recommended it is cooked, the micro differences wont even matter to the 0.01% since they all play diff DPIs

it’s true but the difference will be so small that it basically doesn’t matter

You will. And its even less relevant than like 8k hz peripherals. You'll never feel it. But you'll never feat 8k either yet people still go for it so. Take it as you will.

it’s essentially less control for more responsiveness or vice versa. low dpi leads to easier and smoother control over all pixels but more “input delay” while higher dpi leads to more responsiveness/“input delay” but less control over each single pixel(s)

why i put it in quotations is because it barely makes a difference, you may or may not even notice a difference from 400 to 1600 and it gets exponentially more difficult to tell a difference the higher you go

so if for placebo sake you want less input delay even though ifs almost unnoticeable, go for around 1600 i’d say, anything above over kill

some pros swear by 400 dpi. theoretically the higher the dpi the better but it's really just personal preference bc 99% of people can't notice a difference.

after 1600 it doesnt really matter, even 1600 is not needed
