Yeah such a beautiful country I wish I couldve stayed longer but planning to go back in 2 years. It wouldve been pretty scary experiencing that for sure but kinda used to it (from cali).

Waking up at 4 a.m. jumping on the bed is not a good experience, the worst part is the sounds, I can’t even explain how terrifying the sound of a building is in that kind of silence

i was looking at my dad both horrified as the wall on my left (16th floor) started creaking in tandem with my swaying
can't imagine how bad it must be in an actual eq, hope i never have to experience one

We have heating tho, for most of the time at least, until it randomly turns off due to a shortage. I only have to wear a t shirt and shorts, with some socks to stay warm

I've only been in one earthquake, which was a year ago. It was a magnitude 3.3 earthquake, which is the biggest earthquake in my region in a pretty long time. Pretty scary event, not being able to trust the ground you're on 24/7 is a horrifying concept

There have been 220,000+ earthquakes in Alaska over the last 5 years including a magnitude 8.2 in 2021 and yes they can be "unnerving" for sure lol
