viper on split is very strong for reclearing space and taking space safely such that you don't need a fade dog, especially for the standard A walls

the same cannot be really said for pearl since viper isn't meta rn, + it is a wider and deeper map overall, meaning the design of the map itself makes it much harder to reclear the mid and extremity areas without util

just my take on it tho

Yeah Pearl is one of the few maps that I think tejo actually is decent on but not as a solo initiator
