FNATIC vs. T1 (13-5)

The map of choice for this match was Haven, with T1 running double-Controller with BuZz back on the Neon, while Fnatic ran double-Duelist with kaajak and Alfajer running Yoru and Waylay. FNATIC won the first pistol with an uncharacteristic fast attack round, but were unable to convert the bonus. Alfajer aces against T1.

It took a timeout for T1 to win its second round, a notable thrifty off a BuZz Neon ultimate. Those minor victories prevented the dreaded 9-3 curse, as FNATIC instead ended the half up 8-4.

T1 won the second pistol off a good site execute on B, but FNATIC won the eco to shift the map back in its favor. That eco win was effectively the end, as crashies closed out the map and match 13-5. Sentinels vs. G2 Esports (13-8)

Split was the map that these two top VCT Americas teams ended up choosing, with Sentinels running double-Duelist while G2 ran double-Initiator with leaf on Breach. BABYBAY and jawgemo won G2 the first pistol, but were unable to convert the bonus round. Sentinels fought back with some nice shots from Kyu and N4RRATE , reaching a 3-3 tie. Rounds afterward were even, until jawgemo won a crucial round financially with his trademark aggressive style.

jawgemo dives aggressively into Sentinels.

Kyu landed a 1v3 clutch to prevent a final round win from G2, but G2 remained on top 7-5 at the half.

The second pistol was entertaining, as a seemingly well-played trap strategy from Sentinels was cancelled by some amazing Frenzy shots from jawgemo. BABYBAY landed two clean Sheriff shots to convert the bonus and take a 10-5 lead, before his ultimate was read and countered by Sentinels on the next round to win a thrifty. Both N4RRATE and cortezia were anchoring A site well, and the map looked within reach again. Sentinels scrapped back to only down 10-8, but G2 reached 11-8 and forced a timeout. The timeout did not matter much, as G2 closed out the map 13-8 and eliminated Sentinels from Home Ground.

Once again, jawgemo proved his talent in the win, but for his third Breach match in competitive gameplay ever, leaf also stood out on the attack side.
