Just watched the nandoshow Rob Moore interview, and Rob mentioned that the coaching staff was considering moving N4RRATE to duelist and zekken to smokes before zekken decided to leave. Now I completely understand why he left. There are fewer than 5 duelist players I would even consider to be on par with zekken, and N4RRATE is definitely not on that list and never will be imho.

Now, “considering” is important in this context. However, even that feels a bit disrespectful toward zekken and makes me question Kaplan’s abilities as a coach.

Come back to this post after Kaplan moves Reduxx to primary duelist.

He never peaked higher on duelist. People tend to forget the last time zekken played in T2 he had 350 ACS on offrole. N4RRATE couldn't eve replicate that on duelist nor he could carry his team to more than a couple of map wins LOL

played a better raze and jett on KC and was flexing the role at the same time. he creates more space, forces more duels, he’s like another mada (who clears zekken insanely hard)

i believe he said MIBR is moving him to a smoke/duelist flex role. they moved narrate because zekken left is what he said on plat chat basically

Agreed, im just saying kaplan was never going to move zek to smoke. they moved narrate after zek left SEN. Its MIBR that is moving zek to smoke, which isnt a bad move in my opinion. Zek left because of the offer, SEN were not moving him to smokes

clearly you have very linear thinking
i dont think kaplan ever considered narrate a better duelist than zekken, but overall the team could have been better with narrate at his full potential on duelist and zekken at hopefully most potential on smokes

Yeah I get what you mean, but that jsut proves N4RRATE was a liability either way. Why would zekken need to "downgrade" himself to smokes where he would obv have less impact just so N4RRATE can have better stats and feel comfortable LOL.

kaplan probably wanted to find a way to keep narrate and zekken since theyre both insane aimers. i bet he was trying to get zekken on smokes to replicate the tenz zekken duo from 2024. if he was genuinely wanting to keep narrate over zekken then i can fs see where your coming from though

I don't think or at least I don't want to think he was prioritizing keeping N4RRATE over zekken, but just the consideration of moving zekken off duelist just so N4RRATE can "feel" comfortable aka have great stats IS SO WRONG.

I remember multiple N4RRATE interviews where he mentioned how he's basically constantly worried abt his individual performance which is not a bad thing neccessarily, but you gotta look at the bigger picture man. Even if he would feel more comfortable at duelist, zekken would have less impact on the games on smokes and we all know he's the better player out of the 2. And you GENERALLY, (not always) want your best player on the role he can have the most impact on.

I just don't think N4RRATRE has the right mindset to become a great duelist. Not even gonna mention his skillset cuz he's obviosly never proved to be on the level of zekken, but hey he can always become a generational duelist, right?

i think kaplans thought process with the change is that zekken would have been a little bit less impactful on smokes than on duelist, but narrate would have been much more impactful on duelist than on initiator. meaning overall the team would be better, and probably would have had less role issues
