Throughout the history of VCT, with the exception of 2022 (where first seed 'FPX' couldnt participate in the first event) EMEA has consistently been in 2 of the grandfinals in each international. Yet despite these high placings, EMEA has not won a trophy since 2023, where 'FNC' had first started and ended their dynasty winning back to back trophies, the first and only team to do. With the glory days over, so was the days of EMEA lifting trophies.
Whether it be heretics 2024, or fnatic 2025, no matter how insane their peaks were, no matter how consistent they would preform every year, none of them could quite break through that barrier of 1st place. No miraculous comeback, No amount of hero plays, No amount of iconic dances, was enough to bring a championship back home.
As someone who’s supported this region since watching Gambit vs FPX all the way back in 2021, all I can think is when will it finally be our turn to win?
