the discourse around X region domination is sickening, you had the first two years where people were saying "emea is gonna dominate like in cs" then after champs last year with people saying "china will dominate" (all their teams got grouped this champs) and now this year with people talking about apac domination

regional dominance is mostly because of the number of people playing valorant in that region, as long as each region has around the same number of players then the differences between them won't be too big. league has way more korean/chinese players than other regions, so they dominate. CS has way more european players, so they dominate.

is this clear enough for the retards on this site? or do you believe some races are genetically more gifted at games?

its the first time their region has been decent in a major esports title so they don’t know how to act

didn’t say anything about china. china is good in a lot of esports. na was competitive early on like before 2015

My fault. I thought you meant china and if you meant apac then tbh mlbb is kind of a major eSports. Well major esports definition isn't really clear ig.

True insane how much Taiwan has fallen off. Only good in league and that too 15+ years ago. Tbh eSports culture isn't really prevalent there ig. Well kinda of can be in the political side of things so let's not talk much about Taiwan and china.

Tbh 22m is quite a lot. Ig eSports is just not big there.

EU has more players than korea and they still suck at league, it's not only about number of players, it's also about the culture and access to quality practice

Yeah playerbase doesn't really mean much when the culture of esports isn't big enough. Esports is still a niche thing tbh. Like china has the largest playerbase in league but their talent pool is kinda dead. Mobile gaming eSports dominates the market in china more nowadays.

yeah I'm not saying it's only about the number of players, I'm saying that's the main reason. infrastructure and culture is also another part, koreans are way more invested in league so even if there's a smaller number of players they're still dominant. valorant doesn't have that since there's decent infrastructure in all the major regions and there's an interest in the esport

as long as every region is competitive and to the same level im fine

I want every region to compete. Sure, NA isn't doing well regionally and possibly internationally. EMEA is climbing back up. APAC has been dominant. CN can still climb up next year... maybe.
