looking back this kid was 20 and joined the biggest team in his region and despite losing the first couple games goes on to win split 2 and make champions and then proceeds to win the whole thing.
2025 starts and they win kickoff and breeze through bangkok group stages, but they implode in playoffs and finish 3rd.

This guy literally knew nothing but winning from the get go. Winning the biggest event of the game after just 2 months.

It makes sense that even a few losses would tilt him and he would get complacent considering that hes never really lost before in a big way.

Hopefully EDG can replicate their success without him and he can shine again elsewhere because we never have and probably never will see this speed of success from any rookie again.

I appreciate your post. The conversation around him online has always been really weird, as if to portray S1mon as a victim or something. He was an excellent player for EDG, and he undoubtedly played a crucial role in their Champs 2024 victory. He also had issues with communicating with the team and dealing with adversity. From a non-insider perspective, it doesn't seem like he was mistreated in any way, however we don't know what goes on in the building there. EDG did not do him dirty by moving off of him, as they gave him the opportunity in the first place.

Regardless, I am thankful for his contributions to the team and helping to give EDG fans something to celebrate. I am sure he'll do very well in T2, he is too talented to stay there for too long. I wouldn't be surprised if he's back in T1 in 2026.

I doubt the majority of EDG fans have any real animosity towards S1Mon. Signing him was the right choice, playing him was the right choice, but dropping him was also the right choice.
