Alfajer age problem

I just got to know that alfajer birthday lies in June and he was born in 2005, currently being 20 years old. However this means alfa in lock in and vct EMEA stage and masters tokyo was 17, since he would turn 18 just that month of masters in June, how was he allowed since vct age requirement is 18? Or did the rule come in later

He got grandfathered in. Basically, since he went to an international event prepartnership, he was allowed to compete. Same with a player like Zekken.

this was before the parternship era so the rule only 18 above can play in tier 1 never existed

Him and less were both 17 during franchise

Even so, cauanzin was the youngest player at LOCK//IN
