Ibai (i think hes the owner) said that next year will be the first year that they field the roster they want and if its goes to shit its their fault lol

Not really that bad tbh and I'd argue koi should do something about upper management instead constant roster changes are lowkey just wasting their money

Didn't they say this a couple of times already? Not shitting on the owner or anything but "the players they want" it's a reach.

There's many players that don't want to play for KOI even for the big $$$, happened with Minny and Derke.

i get why derke said no but minny was t2 and sayin no insta to his first go at t1?unless he already got the m8 offer

He was in talks with KOI for quite a time, then M8 jumped in and literally a day after that he signed with M8.

KOI has an uphill battle when it comes to players, i think they have to aim for really young talent to nurture in their academy team so they can later move them to the main team.

i read somewhere during last offseason that they had a shit management before thats y players are running away

Yeah, they got rid of this management quite early in the season, but is a reach to think that's the only reason players don't want to join.

KOI is huge as a brand but in Valorant means failure, and that is not so attractive as a prospect for your career, there might be players that see playing for KOI as a career ending move (which i don't think it is) but man, it's a rough backgroud the one they have.

For those who dont speak spanish and are unaware of whats happening in KOI.

  • First year in VCT the roster was built by Rogue after they had a fusion with KOI (who still owe content creators like Sergio Ferra thousands of euros from unpaid salaries), very important that the original KOI VCT players like sheydos ands starxo were on huge contracts with no clauses to have those reduced if they were benched (thanks Rogue) so they had to "tank" them.

  • Second year in VCT they were caught in the middle of splitting with Rogue and having a triple fusion with Movistar Riders and Overactive Media (Mad Lions) so they couldnt invest much in the team and had bad timings because the fusion was done in the offseason so they had to tank that year which is why they invested in young talent like kamo and grubinho.

  • This year the roster was built by the old Madlions/Overactive media management who are not spanish and are completely out of touch with the club and its spanish part (Movistar Riders), thanks to the LEC team calling these people out and all the bad things they had done (u can go check all that drama if u want but its crazy and too long to explain) so they have gotten fired and the spanish part of Movistar Riders (same ones who built the historic Movistar Riders CS lineups or the KOI LEC team) are now in charge of the VCT team.

  • As for KOI VCT 2026 its pretty straight forward, in spanish community its an open secret that Yaba (academy coach and one of the best coaches in all of european t2 for years) will be promoted and have thinki (current BBL assistant coach) as his assistant (for those who dont know its rumoured from people in VCT that BBL will disband and jamppi/pal go to vitality with minny, its pretty unlikely that BBL manage to keep that roster together or even stay in VCT since Riot are not happy with how they have been running things internally, probably has to do with berlin offices investment etc), Olizera very likely to comeback to KOI since he will this week in the KOI live costream of the VCL final four at LAN in Spain, Globex very likely to be promoted and then they will probably invest big in getting the right duelist/IGL and 2-3 players to complete the roster while they continue to invest in their academy project.

i didnt know about any of this ngl thanks for taking the time to write it
just one thing is there like specific community or twitter stuff to find the stuff such as whats mentioned about bbl here?i find it normal thaat bbl prob wont be able to keep all 5 for next year but didnt know about the BBL AC was pretty much locked for another team

He is not locked but its just very likely if the whole team gets dismantled given that he and Yaba are best friends and KOI wanted to have both together before thinki got picked up by BBL. This info all comes from Sergio Ferra stream who is the KOI costreamer and kaquka who is in the watchparties at times, nothing is set in stone but its just all very likely to happen since I doubt BBL care about keeping an assistant coach, obviously if BBL somehow manage to keep Jamppi and PAL who are the heart of the team then they will keep everyone most likely.

ty for the info, do you know if pika will be promoted? dude seems like a great initiator and is igl too

Sergio Ferra is close friends with Yaba and has been vouching for him to get promoted (they talk every day about things happening inside the team and plans for next year) and from what he has said "he" would like to see "he" wants an experienced IGL and another experienced player and then the other three roles get filled by either rookies or VCT players that become available in the transfer market. If I had to guess I think they will go for Unfake, yaba is close friends to zeek from his time in gonext so maybe he could be picked up but the one that seems most likely to me is Unfake given that they worked together for 2 years in Team Queso and he has proven that he can perform individually in VCT and call at a decent level with room to improve. As for pika I think he will stay in the academy to develop, he is still young and it takes times for an IGL and specially a leader to develop, I havent seen young rookie IGLs with one year of exp in the role get picked up for t1 teams in neither cs or val and that working out in my life

Why would BBL disband this year though? If riot isnt happy with them that should only matter for 2027

#28

rumours in the scene, basically the org has big fanbase but the its shit internally and no money, who knows tho its just rumours, also it doesnt matter only in 2027, a team with players that made champs are obviously not gonna waste another year in an org that will be out of franchise after next year (if that rumour is true) so I think they would rather take offers now that they are their peak

they have them all under contract still. Only magnum is FA after the season.

It would have to be a buyout
