im just learning how to drive, looking for some tips

  1. when you're on a two way street, you have to stay closer to the right lane in case a car drives by on the left lane, how do you determine if you're close enough to the right? (theres no yellow line in the middle)

  2. when you're making a turn, when should you start turnnig the steering wheel? right after u begin moving after stopping at the stop sign or until you go further near the middle of the intersection

  3. when parallel parking, tips on how you can consistently park close enough to the curbside?

thx

  1. i dont understand the question tbh but i think your talking about 2 way single lane with no line? if so just make sure there is enough room for a car in the opposite lane

  2. this kinda just depends on the vehicle and turn in general but i would say generally once about half your vehicle is in the intersection start turning

  3. honestly back up cam lol does work but yeah just well adjusted mirrors and practice

i hope this helped a little

why is this so funny and cute to me 😭😭😭

it’s so much easier to teach someone how to drive in person ughh

  1. i tend to drive as closest to the right as possible without hitting the parked cars or the curb if that makes sense? make sure there is enough room for the opposite traffic on the left side. once you get more practice, you can guage how wide your car is and adjust.

  2. i don’t quite understand this question. i just .. turn my car when it’s time? is it intuition? because i don’t really think about it?

  3. backup camera if you have one or mirrors

my best advice is to find secluded roads and parking lots to practice on and you will get the hang of it. you will feel a lot more comfortable manipulating and driving your vehicle. soon it will be become second nature and you will autopilot when driving.

Also tips on parallel parking, make sure your mirrors line up with the car next to you.

cut your wheel and start reversing.thats probably the easiest way i can explain it

  1. Sometimes you don’t really determine correctly that you are close enough to right. It’s important to just leave room for the left lane when a car drives by by driving abit more into the right lane(of course also paying attention to what’s on your right) .
  2. If it’s a right turn, you usually start turning pretty quickly. For the left turn. You usually start turning much later to leave space for someone else doing a right turn before you turn left. So basically start turning abit before you get to the middle of the intersection, then you start turning pretty quickly after the other cars to your left have passed you.
  3. This one is just practice. It’s easier to park in reverse than the opposite, but that’s all I really got for you. I just park on instinct.

  1. the general rule for me is at a right angle, when the end of my door is past the line then i start turning
  2. practice. However, if you want to make your life easier get one of those convex mirrors and stick it to your side mirror

  1. ?
  2. vibes
  3. if your car is of similar size to the one in front of you, you can try to line up where you are with their driver seat.

for 2 you might just be overthinking it tbh, you just have to turn and feel where the car is going

for parallel parking make sure your cars back is lined up with the back of the car next to you (on similar sized cars you can line up the mirrors)
you can also try lowering the mirror on the side you're parking on to help see where you're going relative to the kerb

There's a channel called 'conquer driving' which I watched a lot when I was learning, he makes videos for the UK but a lot of it applies universally

thx everyone that responded, (i have a 1 hr timeout 😭)

my main concern is that for 1 is that i usually just drive in the middle of the road, since the driver seat is on the left, im always afraid that i might hit the cars to my right if i stuck too close to the right so most of the time, the car driving by on the left lane cant get pass ;-;

for 2 and 3 i think ill just have to practice more to get the intuition
