I am curious. do you guys take ewc results really seriously in terms of its correlation to stage 2 performance? I've seen a lot of people claiming that ewc is not Mickey Mouse

ig its still mainly good teams playing but its not gonna be a champions or masters but i think the results are still pretty valid
some teams are experimenting waylay on this tournament, you can tell which teams are tryharding
its a decent representation of the team's present strengths and weaknesses, though it might not correlate to stage 2 performance as players might not be taking this seriously
I wouldn’t draw crazy conclusions, but I think it’s safe to assume that th will not be nearly as good as split 1, nrg will make playoffs and have upset potential, bbl have a very good chance of making champs, etc.
kinda the same as other high level off season events like RBHG or SOOP and stuff
maybe with a tad bit more importance since its right in between Toronto and Stage 2
I think it's better to judge this kind of thing by looking at teams specifically though
the prize for first is bigger than both trophies your flair has won, what do you mean a tad bit more important than rbhg or soop
I've never seen a team live more rent free in someone's head than FNC in yours 😭😭

Yeah maybe beside g2 game cause their coach was playing. They looked fine regardless since they got 1 map and other close one from blg
ye they did fine with an assistant coach, but I love how g2 decided to troll themselves by not banning their permaban map, sunset, against kc and blg. they are fine in all other maps but they literally look like furia when they play sunset
i think they try to fix the problem on that map just because they will have 2/3 permaban (bind, sunset, corrode(?)) if sunset is not fixed
fair enough, your point is reasonable. they are probably trying to see what they can improve on sunset, based on their ewc sunset games
The orgs have responsibility to the sponsor, EWC have a huge exposure, the teams need to take it seriously
I'm not gonna take it anywhere near winning a masters or champs given that there are horrible scheduling problems and a bo1 format but it's a nice tool to measure the relative strength of some teams that we haven't seen at any internationals like KC BBL or NRG
some of the teams that have a real chance of winning will try hard because of the prize pools, others are just seemingly happy to be here and are experimenting with the meta a bit
