I think SEN needs a performance/mental coach and another analyst with some Tier 1 experience. They’re clearly a talented team, but when they’re up against high-caliber teams like G2 and FNC, they seem to struggle with maintaining their mental—even when they’re winning rounds.
I’m not sure why, but SEN has looked burnt out and out of ideas lately. They’ve been trying to copy comps used by teams like M80 (considering Gunter is from there) and others. But trying to incorporate another team’s comp into their own system hasn’t been working most of the time. Also, their 2024 retake setups looked clean in some matches, but against top-tier teams, it doesn’t always hold up.
That said, I’m really glad to see N4RRATE and bang pop off this tournament. They played incredibly well and put up a real fight—especially today.
I just hope SEN doesn't wait too long to make comp changes. They shouldn’t allow themselves to lose more than three matches in a row before trying something new. I’m also not a fan of putting zekken on agents that require heavy utility usage—he’s a gifted aimer, and I’d rather see him on agents where he’s more comfortable and impactful.
Most importantly, johnqt on initiator feels a bit off to me. Sometimes he still has a lot of utility left when the round is nearly over, or already done, and he can be too passive. I just think Zellsis was really solid in that role—his Kay/O and Breach were excellent. This tournament clearly showed that some SEN players - the young ones (bang, zekken, and N4RRATE) can do hero plays when needed.
Still, I’m happy they picked up some wins in this international event. Even if they were all against Chinese teams, wins are wins—and they somehow looked solid. Hopefully, they carry that momentum into the next international events.
