things that Riot should do to fix valorant esport
1.allow gambling sponsors in tier 2
2.reduce age barrier for tier 1 from 18 years to 15 years
3.fire all activists and DEI hires from the company and start hiring based on merit
4.change gc to female only league (ban all trans players from the league)
5.change masters 1 to 12 teams masters 2 to 16 teams and champions to 20 teams
6.increase the amount of matches in internationals and normal season
7.make it so that 2 teams per region get from tier 2 to tier 1 through ascension per season
8.make the esports hub in game show tier 2 games
9.increase kills needed to win deathmatch to 100 (or make it infinite if possible)
10.introduce new ranked rewards or something else to grind for
11.remove the rule that bans broadcast of other matches if tier 1 games are played on the same day
12.make the team bundles interesting by bringing back the unique team cards and including other weapons than the classic
13.enable queuing games from inside the shooting range and add new training modes/features to it

  1. How much?
  2. Yes. This basically saved the scene of games like Fortnite and we have plenty talent in this age gap, why not?
  3. Yapping.
  4. Flag + Yapping.
  5. Both Masters should have 16 participating teams each, Champions should have 24 (Franchising regional leagues and their respective T2 need a rework aswell, this format is bad).
  6. I'm not sure, the ratio for regional and international match-ups are already ideal, the problem is with the tournament formats. 5th topic
  7. This rotation ratio is ideal, specially considering Riot loves this shit 2 groups format (worst team of each group gets relegated to play ascension. 5th topic again
  8. REALLY important, definetly agree with this.
  9. Best DM format right now is probably CS' one where you just get points with a fixed timer, It'd be lovely to have DM against bots.
  10. Good point, even small rewards like RP for top players of the season would be enough to bring the hype of grinding back.
  11. I don't know about this one, I'd say it's unrealistic to sponsors to allow split up audience (even when it's just 2 matches of the same tournament).
  12. Couldn't have pointed it better. There's no point in buying those most recent franchising bundles as they are not appealing to orgs' fan bases and do not identify with it. It's just not appealing.
  13. Erm, I believe it would cause some bugs and even crashes, but definetly would be good to have new training features specially DM with bots, like I stated before.

just copy cs2 system
they started the completely open circuit in 2025, and cs esports are thriving, just look at the viewership

i agree with everything except:
1 the money that'd come in isn't worth the moral compromise
2 18 is a reasonable age already, that way players involved in t1 are fully grown adults who are responsible for their own actions
4 there's no point in gc already, especially given this is not a traditional sport, but it's always been restricted to females + lgtvhd, no point

majority of these aren't being done because they need more money, mfs here really do have no clue how expensive shit is

Every update to valorant is new skins with no new features if they have no money then idk what they spending it on. and also if they dont do these things the esport is gonna die after some time and that means less skin sales so less money in the future spending money on esport even if its expensive is an investment that is needed

I see your point but I don't think esports is significantly important to game revenue, it isn't worth the money that would be channeled into it if they follow your suggestions. ultimately the people who care about esports are less than 1% of the playerbase.
